Your role

As a plant technician, your focus is on the plant or plants you are responsible for, ensuring they are in the best condition for maximum availability based on our operation and maintenance plans. Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and execute shutdowns (process, electrical, instrumentation) and usually act as the responsible person for electrical connections during process shutdowns.
  • Ensure that chemical handling and hazardous waste management at the plants are carried out according to routine.
  • Coordinate during overhauls, renovations, and corrective maintenance.
  • Act as a fire safety inspector at the plants in accordance with the routine for Systematic Fire Safety Work (SBF).
  • Perform and report weekly and monthly routines.
  • Participate in authority inspections, operational tests, etc.
  • Develop and update routines and instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and commission plants.

Most of your working time will be spent at the plant or plants you are responsible for. This is important to maintain a high level of plant knowledge.

You will solve various technical problems in close collaboration with operation technicians, plant owners, and representatives from other internal functions within maintenance and facilities.

Your team

The position is located within the District Heating Operations unit. Our focus is the optimal operation of our plants for electricity and heat production. We play a key role in Göteborg Energi's important mission – to supply the people of Gothenburg with the energy they need, 24/7, all year round. The ongoing transition to more sustainable energy solutions is exciting and developing for those of us working with energy supply.

The job as a plant technician offers stimulating, varied, and responsible tasks. You will work in a focused team with high competence. As a plant technician, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills while working on something that is extremely important for everyone living and working in Gothenburg.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have a higher education degree in operation technology with a focus on combined heat and power (CHP) or equivalent competence. Knowledge of biofuels is meritorious, as is holding a Category 1 refrigerant certificate (F-gas). To move quickly between our different plants, you need to have a Category B driver's license.

We prefer that you have worked for a few years in energy production, process industry, or similar operations. We would like you to have experience working in smaller projects and with technical investigations. You thrive when you get to analyze, take initiative, and it is second nature for you to work in a safe manner. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys working with many different issues within production, both independently and in collaboration with other functions.
