About the Position
Lyrfågelskolan is located in the eastern part of Trollhättan and is a comprehensive school (grades F-9). The school has just over 1,050 students and is divided into three units: F-3, 4-6, and 7-9.

We are looking for an Activity Coordinator/Maintenance Worker for a combined position where the work is divided approximately 50% activity coordination and 50% maintenance.
Responsibilities
Activity Coordinator/Maintenance Worker
As an Activity Coordinator, you play a central role in creating a positive and meaningful school day for our middle school students. You work closely with students and staff to develop the school's social environment and student influence.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Planning, implementing, and developing activities for students during breaks and other common times.
- Leading and developing the school's student council together with the students.
- Strengthening students' participation and influence over the school's operations.
- Coordinating and distributing tasks to other staff working in student areas to ensure a well-functioning break-time activity.
- Being a safe and present adult in the students' daily lives.
- Acting as a substitute teacher or in other student-facing activities when needed.
As a Maintenance Worker, you are responsible for ensuring that the school's premises and associated furnishings are in good condition, and that the indoor and outdoor environments are safe and pleasant for both students and staff.
Responsibilities include, among other things:
- Simple repairs and maintenance.
- Supervision of school premises and equipment.
- Furnishing and preparing rooms.
- Contact with contractors and suppliers when necessary.
- Involvement in fire safety work, safety rounds, and working environment tasks, purchasing, and documentation.
- Practical support for the school's operations.
As an Activity Coordinator/Maintenance Worker, part of the role involves involving students in the school's work on the physical working environment. This means giving students the opportunity to contribute ideas and feedback on how the school's premises can be developed and improved. At the same time, students should be made aware that they have a personal responsibility to care for, respect, and contribute to a safe, pleasant, and well-functioning school environment. The purpose is to create a learning environment that promotes students' well-being, participation, responsibility, and learning.
Qualifications
- You should have a property technical education or other education that the employer considers equivalent.
- You have several years of experience working independently with property maintenance.
- You have a strong commitment to young people and their development.
- You are a clear, safe, and positive adult role model.
- You have good collaboration skills and are accustomed to taking initiative.
- You are structured and can plan, coordinate, and lead activities.
- You are practical-minded and enjoy varied tasks.
- A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
Personal suitability and the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues are highly valued. Experience working with young people, student influence, leisure activities, or school settings is meritorious, as is a university degree relevant to the tasks.
