Vårgårda Municipality – Here we succeed together!
Welcome to Vårgårda Municipality and a workplace where you get to develop and make a difference every day. With respectful treatment and high accessibility, we do everything to deliver welfare services that exceed the expectations of our residents. Based on our vision, our common value base, and clear political goals, we are building for strong growth and an attractive employer brand.
At Vårgårda Municipality, we work together with a focus on the purpose of our operations and the needs of our residents. We want to be a place where dreams can come true, where safety and activity go hand in hand, and where everyone can feel at home. Together, we continue to develop a municipality where it is good to live, work, and thrive!
Family Therapist Wanted – Do you want to make a difference with us?
Are you an engaged and relationship-building family therapist who wants to help develop the social services of the future? Then this might be the job for you.
One of our appreciated family therapists is moving on to new challenges, and we are now looking for a new colleague who wants to contribute to our continued development work. We are in an exciting time where we are strengthening the opportunities for early preventive interventions while simultaneously developing qualified and evidence-based support for children, young people, and their families.
With us, you will have a meaningful, varied, and developing job where you contribute every day to creating positive changes in people's lives.
1 position(s).
DUTIES
As a family therapist, you work with both early preventive support and more complex family cases. The role requires creativity, endurance, and the ability to find sustainable solutions together with families, networks, and partners based on each family's unique situation.
Our goal is for children, young people, and their families to receive support in their home environment to the greatest extent possible. The work is therefore varied and can range from parent education and therapeutic conversations to more practical and pedagogical support in everyday life.
We work based on Signs of Safety, a method characterized by collaboration, transparency, and a strong focus on strengthening the individual's and family's own abilities. The strengths and resources of the child, family, and network form the basis of the work, and interventions are planned and carried out in close dialogue with children, young people, guardians, and other important people in the child's surroundings. We are convinced that sustainable change is created through participation and close cooperation between those involved and relevant partners.
A workplace where we make a difference together!
You will become part of the Outpatient Care Team at the Resource Unit, where several professions work closely together in a culture characterized by collaboration, lack of hierarchy, engagement, and joy in work. The team's broad competence creates good opportunities for learning, development, and collegial support.
In the role, you may also receive assignments directed towards other target groups based on the needs of the operations.
An important part of the work is also the close cooperation with the authority division of Individual and Family Care (IFO). Together, we work to provide professional, cohesive, and long-term support to those we meet. If necessary, the position may also involve supporting the authority's regulatory functions.
Documentation is carried out according to current legislation.
The position is primarily during daytime hours, but because family needs vary, you need to be flexible as work in the evenings and on weekends may occur.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who:
- Have a degree in social work or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
- Are confident, curious, and flexible in your approach to work.
- Have good empathetic skills and a professional attitude.
- Are skilled at creating, developing, and maintaining trusting relationships.
- Enjoy working independently while seeing the strength in close collaboration with colleagues and other actors.
- We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

- Experience in social work, family therapy, and/or authority functions.
- Education in parent support programs such as ABC and KOMET.
- Education or experience in methods such as rePULSE, After the Child Interview, or The Ladder.
