The Pediatric Heart Center is looking for Nursing Assistants

About Us

At the Pediatric Heart Center, we care for children from across the country in connection with heart surgery, cardiac catheterization, heart transplantation, and other investigations and treatments for children with heart disease. The Pediatric Heart Center at Queen Silvia Children's Hospital is one of Sweden's two centers with the mandate for National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) in pediatric cardiac surgery. Consequently, we also perform highly specialized pediatric cardiology.

We work with Patient-Centered Care, where clear teamwork between different professions provides us with the prerequisites to create value for the patient. Pharmacists, service staff, and administrative personnel relieve other healthcare staff of tasks that are not patient-facing, which gives you ample opportunity to provide professional nursing care.

The Pediatric Heart Center now needs to strengthen its resources with four nursing assistants. Therefore, we are looking for you who want to be involved in the continued development of our operations.

We Offer

We believe in a good start and have a comprehensive introduction package. This includes, among other things, an individually tailored introduction period of at least six weeks, as well as continuous supervision from both mentors and experienced colleagues. We offer competence development in the form of training, lectures, and reflection sessions, in accordance with our career development model for a sustainable working life.

Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant with us, you are responsible for the nursing care of children and adolescents being treated for investigation or treatment of congenital or acquired heart disease. This includes, among other things, monitoring vital parameters, wound care, nutrition, and mobilization. You work in a team together with other nursing assistants as well as nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals. We can therefore offer you a varied and stimulating job with much joy in work.

About You

We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant with nursing education focused on pediatric care. It is meritorious if you have a degree as a specialist nursing assistant and/or experience in caring for children in a hospital setting.

We are looking for you who have shown that you can quickly absorb new knowledge and adapt to new working methods. Interest, willingness, and ability to help others are important qualities. It is also important that you are interested in contributing to the development of our operations. References from a manager confirming this are required.

When making employment decisions, we naturally look at personal suitability, as the center's mandate in National Highly Specialized Care requires competence to handle complex issues.
