Adult education covers basic and upper secondary education, instruction in Swedish for immigrants, special educational activities, adapted education for adults, vocational training at the upper secondary level and within university colleges. Adult education also serves as a learning center that includes, among other things, exam services, study and career guidance, a library, and pedagogical support for students and citizens. In total, adult education comprises approximately 90 employees, of whom about 65 are teachers.
Adult education is led by a school principal/department head, an administrative manager, and three principals.
Your responsibilities
Adult education is seeking a Business Developer with the task of contributing to the strategic and operational development of the organization. The position is located close to the management and includes qualified management support for the department head and administrative manager, as well as responsibility for initiating, driving, and following up on development initiatives within the department's area of responsibility. The role requires a good understanding of adult education's mission, governance, and regulations, as well as the ability to translate strategic goals into concrete improvements in operations.
The duties will mainly consist of:
- Support for the department head and administrative manager in planning, follow-up, and steering.
- Prepare decision materials, analyses, and presentations.
- Contribute to reporting to the board and other decision-making bodies.
- Participate in and document management group work.
- Coordinate and follow up on business planning, goals, and results.
- Identify development needs based on analyses, statistics, and business dialogues.
- Initiate, lead, and implement development and change projects within adult education.
- Drive improvement work related to structure, quality, efficiency, and goal achievement.
- Develop and implement processes, working methods, and routines.
- Support the development of the department's systematic quality work.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have an academic education in pedagogy, social sciences, or other education that the employer considers equivalent.
You have very good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and in writing.
You have experience from or in:
- Work with business development and/or change management.
- Working in collaboration with several actors at different levels.
- Leading and/or working in projects.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience from the education or labor market sector.
- Experience of working close to management or in a staff function.
- Knowledge of governance and leadership in a politically governed organization.
We are looking for someone who is structured and solution-oriented, as well as having good collaboration skills. It is important that you are self-reliant and have the ability to take initiative. The role requires that you have the ability to switch between strategic and operational tasks. It is important that you have good pedagogical and communicative skills and feel comfortable working in a complex organization that is very changeable in nature.
