Do you want to work with electromechanical components in advanced flight systems where quality and reliability are crucial?

As a Component Engineer specializing in electromechanics, you will play a central role between procurement, design, and production in a defense aviation technology company, where your technical understanding makes a real difference. This is a long-term consultancy assignment.

About the role
As a Component Engineer for electromechanical components, you ensure that components meet high demands for quality, function, and reliability in advanced flight systems. You drive component qualification, investigate deviations and failures, and ensure that component information and technical documentation are correct and up-to-date.

You work in a qualification process where you assess whether a component is suitable based on requirements and intended operating environment, providing supporting documentation for the selection. The components include connectors, relays, switches, actuators, and panels. On the electrical side, there is also some laboratory work, such as pull tests. The role alternates between detailed work – digging into datasheets and documentation – and coordinating and driving dialogue between design, procurement, and production. You have the most contact with suppliers, who may also present their product range. Daily work is structured in Jira.

Summary of responsibilities

  • Drive qualification of new electromechanical components based on requirements and operating environment
  • Contribute technical expertise to investigations of deviations and failures, e.g., in case of incorrect delivery
  • Conduct and interpret tests in a laboratory environment, such as pull tests
  • Handle material declarations related to legislation, e.g., restricted substances in a product
  • Create and maintain technical standards and documentation for how components should be handled and used

About you

You have strong analytical skills and a structured approach to work, with a clear holistic mindset and technical understanding. You can handle and explain complex information in a pedagogical manner, and switch effortlessly between detailed focus and a holistic perspective. Since you sit between production, procurement, and design, you are proactive and communicative – you gather information, put it into context, and take responsibility for your tasks. You are also not afraid to share your own thoughts and ideas.

We are looking for someone with

  • At least a University College Diploma (YH) or a Bachelor's/Master's degree, preferably in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or similar
  • Relevant experience in areas such as design, product development, production, or a technical role close to electrical engineering
  • Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as documentation and supplier dialogue occur in both languages
  • Ability to undergo and pass a security clearance prior to employment, which may involve citizenship requirements
