Your Role

As a Tool Technician within Aeronautics, you will become an important part of a high-tech environment where Saab develops and maintains advanced flight systems, including the Gripen. The work is practical, varied, and metrological in nature – you will, among other things, work with assembly, grinding, painting, marking, and repairing tools. You calibrate and measure using laser trackers (e.g., Leica). You often solve tasks where ready-made instructions are lacking, which requires a creative and solution-oriented approach. It is not uncommon for you to need to design tools yourself to enable further work in production.

Reading drawings is a natural part of everyday life, and you may be expected to assist other parts of the operation in case of urgent needs – always with flight safety in focus. Business travel may occur, both nationally and internationally.

Your Profile

To succeed in the role, we see that you are a flexible and self-initiating person with good problem-solving skills. You enjoy taking initiative and are not afraid to think creatively when ready-made solutions are lacking. Attention to detail is second nature to you, as is the desire to deliver high-quality work even under time pressure. Your independence is combined with good collaboration skills and a natural drive to take responsibility for the whole.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A high school diploma, preferably with a workshop technical or other practical focus. Technical interest is highly valued.
• Good computer skills; experience with business systems ERP and IFS is a merit.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• A valid driver's license (Category B).

Working hours are during the day, and the location is Tannefors, Linköping. National and international travel may occur.

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance procedures in effect at the time. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
