Company Description

AFRY has Nordic roots with global reach. Our shared principles – Result driven, Client centric, Empowering, and Accountable – guide us in how we work, develop, and succeed together. Join us in accelerating the transition to a sustainable society.
Job Description
Our department for Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation at AFRY currently consists of a team of electrical, instrumentation, and automation engineers located in Norrköping and Linköping. We work with everything from design and construction to commissioning and technical support within the process and manufacturing industry, energy, and other industrial segments. Here, you become part of a team that values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and well-being. We are part of Pulp & Paper Sweden and deliver both project and PS assignments to a broad customer base in the region.
As an Instrumentation Engineer with us, you work with instrumentation in industrial process plants, focusing on both design and field installation. You become a key competency in our projects where instrumentation roles are in high demand and often crucial for the overall delivery.
Examples of tasks
- Instrumentation design and creation of technical documentation
- Creation and updating of instrument lists, loop diagrams, datasheets, and I/O lists
- Participation in design, technical decisions, and solution development
- Collaboration with process, electrical, and automation designers as well as the customer
- Participation in verification, loop checks, FAT/SAT, and commissioning
- Handling of changes and technical deviations in projects
- In some assignments, work with safety-classified facilities and moments
The group consists of knowledgeable and engaged colleagues with a good mix of junior and senior experience. You have access to support from experienced engineers and specialists within both instrumentation, electrical, and control systems, also from other AFRY offices if needed.
We work primarily in project form and have close collaboration with other technical areas and geographies within AFRY. The combination of broad technical competence and varied assignments gives you good opportunities for development – both in your current role and in the long term, for example with specialization in instrumentation or greater responsibility in projects.
Qualifications
To succeed in the role, we believe you thrive in a technically challenging environment where you get to use your problem-solving skills and work solution-oriented together with others. You take responsibility for your deliverables, are service-oriented towards customers and colleagues, and have a drive to develop both yourself and the business.
To fit into the role with us, we believe you have:
- Experience working with instrumentation within the process industry
- Knowledge of instrumentation design, field instruments, sensors, and control valves
- System proficiency and experience with AutoCAD
- Relevant technical education from upper secondary school, university college, or university, or equivalent experience
Language skills: Swedish in speech and writing; English is an advantage.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience or education within ATEX and Ex-classified installations
- Knowledge or certification within SIL / functional safety
- Experience with design tools such as Comos, Eplan, or Insyde
- Courses or education within process instrumentation or control engineering
