We offer a pleasant work environment with fantastic teams and great benefits, such as paid training time.

For us, the team and participation are among the most important factors for developing the workplace. We therefore ensure that our employees have the opportunity and desire to contribute their various competencies so that results and the work environment become as good as possible.

Defence Health (Försvarshälsan) is the Swedish Armed Forces' internal occupational health service and is located in all garrison towns across the country. We are a resource for both the employer, the employee, as well as conscripts and cadets. Our commitment focuses on health-promoting, preventive, treatment, and rehabilitative measures aimed at promoting good health and a good physical, psychological, organizational, and social work environment.

Defence Health at the Life Guards is located in three different geographical areas: in Kungsängen northwest of Stockholm, in central Stockholm, and at the Military Academy Karlberg in Solna.

The Role

Welcome to a position as a nurse in a varied and exciting environment! We are now looking for a nurse to strengthen our operations at Defence Health in Karlberg.

The duties are varied both from a medical perspective and within the military context in which we operate. The primary responsibilities involve delivering health and medical care to the cadets undergoing their officer training at the Military Academy Karlberg. The work is primarily conducted as outpatient care, but we also regularly accompany cadets into the field during various training exercises and military drills.

In addition to daily outpatient work, you will also serve as a key defence medical resource, supporting the cadets' commanders and instructors.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, and nurses. Teamwork permeates our approach in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with specialist competence as a District Nurse or other further education deemed relevant by the employer
  • Relevant and documented professional experience as a nurse/District Nurse
  • Category B driver's license and driving experience

Merits

  • Experience in outpatient care as a District Nurse or equivalent Nurse in an Urgent Care Centre
  • Experience in emergency medical care
  • Experience administering vaccinations
  • Work experience as a nurse within Occupational Health Services
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience within the Swedish Armed Forces

Personal Attributes

You will work in an organization with varied and independent tasks where you are often expected to make your own medical decisions. The ability to take initiative and work independently, while knowing when to seek support in your assessments, is therefore a prerequisite for the role. It is central that you have good collaboration skills and the ability to organize and structure your work.

Work during military exercises can sometimes be intense; you should be able to adjust your pace and have good physical fitness as you will carry equipment over short distances in various types of terrain. You should also feel comfortable handling more acute situations, which may arise, particularly during exercises.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
