Töjnaskolan is now looking for a School Nurse.

Töjnaskolan is a school with approximately 800 students from preschool class to grade 9. For the academic year 24/25, we have three parallel classes in each grade, from preschool class to grade 9. The school is located in central Sollentuna with good transport connections and well-adapted, beautiful facilities, having opened in 2020-2021. In your role as a school nurse, you will work together with a colleague and work at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

Responsibilities

The school nurse's task is to collaborate with school leadership and other student health personnel to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning based on medical competence. The role of a school nurse involves working to promote health and prevent illness in accordance with the municipality's basic program and based on the regulatory documents found in the Health and Medical Services Act, the Education Act, and guidelines for student health. Health visits, health conversations, vaccinations, open reception, and reception together with the school doctor are included in your duties.

You are part of the school's student health team and contribute your competence in medicine and nursing. The work involves collaboration with students, parents, school staff, as well as organizations and authorities outside the school.

We see that we can offer a full-time position or, if necessary, a part-time position of 70-80% depending on preferences.

Qualifications

Competency requirements: Registered nurse with specialist nurse education in health and medical care for children and adolescents, open health and medical care, or specialist education within the school nurse program.

If you have previously worked as a school nurse or have experience in health-promoting work with children and young people, we view this very positively. In your role, it is important that you have good interpersonal skills, can build trust with students and guardians, have good ability to plan and prioritize, and can be flexible in situations that require it. Furthermore, we want you to have good collaboration skills and be responsible. Experience with the digital record system Prorenata is an advantage.

Organization

In Sollentuna Municipality, school nurses are employed at the school with the principal as the nearest manager. The principal also leads the student health work at the school. For the medical component, there is a business manager who is responsible for advice, support, and guidelines regarding the medical work.
