Do you want to contribute your experience in a role that truly makes a difference while helping to develop a crucial function within Region Stockholm's prehospital care? Then the role of Medical Dispatcher might be for you.

We are now looking for more engaged specialist nurses who want to become part of the team. The position is staffed by the Ambulance Care Administration on behalf of the Health and Medical Care Administration and plays a key role in coordinating the region's special resources. The work runs 24/7, year-round. As the scope of the assignment grows, we are now strengthening the team with more knowledgeable colleagues!

You will start with a comprehensive introductory training and will continuously undergo targeted education to strengthen your competence in the field. You will also have the opportunity to rotate to other functions based on your skills and the operational needs, which provides broad experience and development opportunities within ambulance care.

Your Assignment

The Medical Dispatcher is a function under continued development within the region's prioritization and dispatch service, with a central role regarding the coordination of the region's special resources. As a Medical Dispatcher, you work in a team with the prehospital back-shift and operational coordinator. You coordinate the region's emergency and duty doctor cars as well as ambulance helicopters by identifying the right assignment for the right resource, assessing cases, handling dispatch, flight-following, and coordinating the region's helicopter landing sites. Your task is to ensure that resources are used optimally.

A part of the expanded assignment is to work more actively with waiting patients. You continuously assess needs to ensure that the right patient receives the right care at the right time.

You also support other colleagues in the prioritization and dispatch service with medical assessments. Together with the prehospital back-shift, you will identify cases for the doctor cars. The Medical Dispatcher is staffed 24/7, year-round, just like the emergency and duty doctor cars and ambulance helicopters. This means that you, as an applicant, should be prepared to work both day and night shifts, seven days a week.

We Are Looking For

In the role of Medical Dispatcher, you need to be able to make medical assessments under time pressure, sometimes with limited information. You are confident in your professional role, structured, and accustomed to making decisions even when many factors need to be weighed in.

You find it easy to prioritize between interventions and quickly see what is most urgent. The role requires you to have a holistic perspective, not just on the individual assignment but on the entire care chain.

You thrive in collaboration with others and have communicative skills that allow you to listen, formulate clearly, and contribute to good cooperation with various functions. Attention to detail and judgment are important, as is the willingness to develop working methods together with colleagues. Personal qualities are given great weight.

Qualifications

  • Specialist Nurse with at least three years of professional experience and prehospital experience.
  • You have full command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English. Good knowledge of the medical treatment guidelines and prehospital directives applicable to ambulance care in Stockholm. Completed training in AMLS and PS.
  • We work in an IT-intensive environment with several different systems that you will learn here. We assume that you master the basics of the most common Office programs and have good computer skills.

Meritorious

  • It is meritorious if you have experience with emergency and duty doctor cars or helicopter/air ambulance or dispatch center work. We would appreciate if you have experience working in CoordCom or HEMSWX.
  • Specialist Nurse in Ambulance Care.
  • Work as a specialist nurse in an emergency doctor car or helicopter.
  • Well-versed in Region Stockholm's disaster medical plan and good knowledge of 1177 Vårdguiden and Vårdgivarguiden.

Other

The recruitment process includes, in addition to an interview, a logic and personality test. The position is classified for security, which means that a security check with registry and background control will be conducted for final candidates in the recruitment process before a decision on employment is made. The position may be designated for wartime service.

Selection and interviews take place continuously, so do not wait to submit your application.

We warmly welcome your application!
