About Us

Surgery East provides highly specialized care with national, regional, and local assignments. Our extensive outpatient care consists of several units focusing on colorectal surgery – both benign and malignant – hernia surgery, as well as upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. We continuously work on development and improvement, both in daily work and in various clinical, hospital, and region-wide projects.

Job Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant in outpatient care, you are flexible and thrive with multiple tasks simultaneously. You rotate between different clinics and have an stimulating job with good development opportunities. The role requires independence as you are responsible for your own clinics and patient counseling. You also need to be skilled in teamwork when assisting doctors with endoscopies, dilations, and ultrasounds. Additionally, routine nursing assistant tasks at the clinic are included.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant with an employment within the Region of Västra Götaland (VGR) and who have worked for a few years in surgery, preferably with experience of colorectal diseases and clinic operations. Meritorious is knowledge about wound dressing – especially VAC dressings and stoma – as well as experience with proctoscopy, rectoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy.

To thrive in the role, you have a strong patient focus and a solution-oriented approach to work. You are meticulous, service-oriented, and have good communication skills. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
