Job Description
With a proud history and an exciting future, the nuclear industry is where you can make a real difference and contribute to shaping tomorrow's energy landscape. Our consultants at AFRY Nuclear drive projects and execute assignments across several technical areas – mechanics/process, electrical/automation, construction, as well as industry-specific areas such as reactor safety and radioactive waste. We carry out projects of varying sizes, from component replacements to complex modernization projects. With our broad competence, we help both our customers and each other to develop. Additionally, we have 19,000 colleagues within AFRY, giving us an impressive competence bank to offer our customers.
We are now looking for several colleagues for the role of Technical Project Manager for consultancy assignments within the nuclear industry. In this role, you will get involved early in projects and lead various technical assignments from start to finish. The size and content of the projects vary – from technical maintenance to decommissioning and modernization projects. You are responsible for ensuring that projects adhere to schedules and budgets, and that they are carried out in accordance with the strict regulations and safety requirements applicable in the nuclear industry. The work also includes, among other things, preparation materials, needs analyses, offer reviews, pre-studies, and investigations prior to projects.
Our section offers exciting tasks in an engaged and knowledgeable team. With support from experienced colleagues, you will have good opportunities to develop in the role of Technical Project Manager. As consultants in the field, you work primarily on-site with our customers, which means that travel is a natural part of the job. There is an opportunity for some remote work depending on the assignment and tasks.
Qualifications
Personal qualities are highly valued by us to ensure you thrive in the role. Since we work in a customer-oriented business with many contact points, we are looking for you who have good communication skills and are motivated by creating and developing long-term relationships with both customers and colleagues.
You enjoy establishing new contacts, drive work forward efficiently, and contribute where needed for the team to succeed. Since you will often work on parallel assignments, it is also important that you work in a structured manner and are quick to acquire new knowledge. You have a flexible approach and adapt easily to changed circumstances, seeing opportunities in change.
We see that you have:
- A university degree in engineering or other relevant post-secondary education.
- Previous experience working in project form within technical industry.
- Operational or practical experience from a nuclear power plant.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, as both languages are used frequently within AFRY and by our customers.
- A driver's license (Category B), as travel is a natural part of the role.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Previous experience as a project manager, assignment manager, or sub-project manager within technical industry.
- Experience or education in cross-technical areas, such as mechanics, mechatronics, chemistry, technical physics, construction, or related fields.
Since the position operates within security-classified areas, you will undergo drug tests and security checks before employment can begin. Swedish citizenship is required to work in security-classified areas such as this.

The last application date is August 31, 2026. Please note that we are going on holiday soon and will therefore start the selection process when we return. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
