Job Description
Do you have a practical approach, an eye for detail, and a desire to develop within packaging design? We are currently looking for a Prototype Maker and Design Support for a fixed-term assignment with our client. Here you will have the opportunity to work closely with a creative design team and transform innovative ideas into physical prototypes!
In the role of Prototype Maker/Design Support, you will become a vital link in the design team's work. The team's mission is to develop optimal packaging solutions for their clients, balancing parameters such as material selection, format optimization, sustainability, and profitability. You will work with both construction and graphic design in a supportive and practical role.
This is a full-time consulting assignment located in Torsvik. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00. The assignment starts in week 34/35 and runs until week 51. You will be employed by us at Randstad, and for the right person, there are excellent chances of a direct hire with the client afterwards.
Your days will be varied, involving both digital and physical creation as you support the design team throughout the entire chain from sketch to finished prototype. In this role, you will assist in the creation and delivery of customer prototypes, which means working practically with cutting tables and hand tools as well as using digital systems to perform simpler construction tasks in ESKO Artios CAD. A key part of the job involves assessing and evaluating the function, strength, and assembly of the developed solutions, as well as checking and adjusting designs in close collaboration with the team's designers. You will also support the team with daily material handling, organize and manage documentation in the department's digital systems, and collaborate with the Lab on various types of product tests.
Who are you?
To thrive and succeed in this role, you are a practical person who enjoys working with your hands, while also possessing strong computer skills and feeling completely comfortable in front of a screen. You have a naturally solution-oriented attitude and logical thinking regarding both function and form. Since the role requires handling digital documentation, it is important that you are organized and meticulous in your work. As a person, you are self-motivated and enjoy taking responsibility, but you also have strong collaboration skills as you will have many touchpoints within the team. We would appreciate it if you had prior experience with CAD, which will help you quickly get up to speed with the digital tools.
