The IT/MT department has overall responsibility for IT and Medical Technology (MT) in Norrbotten County Council. The Business-Related IT/MT Unit in Gällivare is part of the Digital Business Support & MT business area, which provides daily IT and MT operations to the various healthcare activities of Norrbotten County Council. You will work in a team with various professions, such as other MT engineers/technicians and IT technicians. The team's most important task is to support other operations with efficient and patient-safe IT and MT support in close collaboration.
We are looking for
We are looking for you who have a technical upper secondary education or other education that, combined with work experience, can be considered equivalent. It is an advantage if you have a university-level engineering degree, experience in medical technology and IT, as well as practical service work within healthcare. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, as well as a Class B driver's license, are required.
Since we work close to healthcare operations and are in daily contact with our customers, we are looking for you who are service-oriented and have a good ability to collaborate. In healthcare-related contexts, you show good judgment and act, speak, and make decisions in a considerate manner. You can independently plan and carry out your work, have a sense of order and structure, but can also adapt to changed circumstances. To achieve the organization's goals, you need to be strategic, able to prioritize your work, and see the big picture. We place great importance on personal suitability.
What you will work with
MT engineers/technicians are responsible for the operation of medical equipment within Norrbotten County Council. The work covers the entire lifecycle – procurement, maintenance, troubleshooting, and decommissioning – in areas such as dialysis, intensive and emergency care, surgery, laboratory medicine, and radiology.
The practical work with maintenance and troubleshooting is mixed with assisting other functions with technical competence in development projects and procurement processes. You actively participate in the development of our operations in close collaboration with healthcare, and the work is always carried out in accordance with current regulations. The position is located at Gällivare Hospital. Travel within the county occurs, primarily to health centers in the municipality but also to hospitals in other locations.
Product training and competence development with our suppliers take place continuously during employment, sometimes even outside the Nordic countries.

Information about the position
We offer a permanent full-time position with start date as agreed. Working hours are during daytime, Monday – Friday. Selection and interviews take place continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
Norrbotten County Council applies individual salary setting according to collective agreement.
