Your role

As a Research Engineer in water management, you will work on building and further developing knowledge about mine water within LKAB. The role involves independent responsibility for monitoring the current situation and contributing to a desired future development of water management, with a particular focus on the underground environments in Malmberget and Kiruna. The work is characterized by analysis, long-term thinking, and a holistic perspective on water issues in mining operations.

• Gather, structure, and update information about mine water in the current state and future target vision
• Work on capacity issues, identify limitations, and contribute to relevant key performance indicators
• Analyze data and assess needs and potential for modeling and new working methods
• Lead, review, and quality-assure external projects and investigations
• Compile knowledge regarding hydrogeology, groundwater inflows, water treatment, and water balance in the underground mining process

Requirements for the position:

• Experience in water management within mining operations, with a focus on mine dewatering
• Experience in working with water systems and water quality
• Academic education at bachelor's or master's level in mining engineering or another relevant field
• Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
• Valid driver's license (Category B)

Merits:

• Experience in project management or working in project form
• Knowledge of modeling tools for mine water, such as Pumpsim
• Experience working with hydrogeology
• Experience with Deswik, statistical analysis tools, or Power BI
