We are now strengthening the Data Analysis and AI group with Data Engineers who want to help build the foundation for future analysis and data solutions at the Swedish Customs Authority.

About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you are responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure required to collect, store, process, and make data available. You focus on creating efficient and scalable data flows and pipelines that ensure the agency's analysis and data needs are met. You will implement mechanisms related to data validation as well as methods to ensure data quality and handle security aspects regarding data, including access controls. The role also includes ensuring existing and future data deliveries to other authorities.

To thrive in this role, you need a strong interest in digitalization, an understanding of the possibilities with data, and a desire to contribute to creating operational value. You will work closely with business units, architects, and our AI and analytics specialists, contributing to the development of a modern data platform. The role encompasses both classic data engineering tasks and forward-looking work where we gradually develop our platform and working methods.

Are You the One We Are Looking For?

We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in this field and has:

  • Relevant post-secondary education with an IT focus, or current experience that we can assess as equivalent
  • At least two years of experience as a data engineer, BI/ETL/data warehouse developer, or similar
  • Very good knowledge of SQL
  • Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Swedish citizenship

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Cypher and Neo4j
  • Programming in Java, Python, or similar
  • Data modeling techniques, including trade-offs and best practices
  • Data-centric architecture
  • Data catalogs and data products
  • API development
  • Data visualization tools
  • Systems that make data available for AI usage
  • System development that makes Generative AI available to users
  • Automation of data flows
  • Agile working methods

The work involves contacts both within and outside the IT department and the Swedish Customs Authority, which requires that you are skilled at building good relationships, have the ability to communicate and convey messages clearly, and value creating a dialogue-oriented climate.
