Company Description

Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of approximately 700 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation. We train personnel in Swedish nuclear power, deliver nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develop and execute projects and assignments, and provide internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as developing and providing training, project management and support, analysis leadership and investigations, product development, and nuclear safety and dam safety assignments.

The focus within the business unit Vattenfall Power Solutions is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected technical key disciplines. We actively work on continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and competence create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.

About the Role

As a Project Manager with us, you will lead complex projects that directly contribute to the development of Sweden's future fossil-free energy system.

We are looking for experienced Project Managers who want to take responsibility for assignments within nuclear power, hydropower, and energy infrastructure – in a society-critical operation where quality, safety, and long-term perspective are in focus.

Here, you will work on varied assignments within the energy sector, often in close collaboration with our partners, such as Forsmark Nuclear Power Plant, SKB, and Hydro. The projects span several areas, such as facility modifications, construction, land, and IT, and vary in both scope and complexity – from smaller teams to larger projects with many involved stakeholders and suppliers.

We place great importance on matching your competence and experience with the right type of assignment, so that you have the opportunity to develop and create the greatest possible value.

In the role of Project Manager:

  • You lead cross-functional project teams and create conditions for efficient collaboration.
  • You are responsible for defining goals, scope, and requirements together with relevant stakeholders.
  • You ensure that projects deliver according to agreed timeframes, budget, and quality requirements.
  • You contribute to continuous development by leveraging experiences and spreading lessons learned.

Through your work, you contribute to safe, stable, and sustainable energy production – and to Vattenfall's goal of a fossil-free future.

You will become part of a team characterized by openness, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. We actively work on competence development, experience exchange, and networking – both within the unit and in close collaboration with other parts of the organization.

Requirements

We are looking for you who have experience leading projects and thrive in a role where you can combine structure, collaboration, and responsibility. You have a good understanding of project management and are driven by creating results together with others.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in project management/project work
  • Ability to plan, drive, and follow up on projects within time, budget, and quality
  • Experience with economic and resource planning in projects
  • Good communication skills and habit of collaborating with different types of stakeholders
  • Civil Engineer degree or equivalent relevant academic education
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing
  • Valid driver's license (Category B)

Merits

  • Experience from the energy sector, e.g., nuclear technology operations or hydropower
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMI, IPMA, or similar)
  • Experience with project management tools

Personal Qualities

We believe that you:

  • are a confident and communicative leader who creates engagement and builds trust
  • have a structured working method and good ability to prioritize and adapt in a changing environment
  • see the big picture and drive the work forward with a clear focus on results
  • thrive in collaboration and contribute to a positive team climate

We value both your experience and your personal qualities. Therefore, do not hesitate to apply even if you do not meet all requirements – it might just be you we are looking for.
