Mechanical Quality Engineer
Are you an experienced engineer with a strong background in quality control of mechanical components? We are now recruiting a Mechanical Quality Engineer on behalf of our client for a long-term and technically advanced assignment within the manufacturing industry.
You will become part of an engaged quality and project team where the focus is on quality assurance, technical documentation, and follow-up of mechanical components and manufacturing processes in a business with high demands on quality, structure, and safety.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Quality Engineer, you will work to ensure quality and compliance for mechanical components and equipment within technically advanced projects.
The role involves close collaboration with both internal project teams and external suppliers to ensure that quality requirements and customer expectations are met throughout the process.
Your responsibilities will include among other things:
- Performing quality inspections and observations of manufacturing processes, mechanical components, and welded structures
- Reviewing control plans, final documentation, and deviations from a quality perspective
- Ensuring technical documentation and quality requirements in orders and projects
- Issuing quality-related documentation and certificates
- Participating in supplier audits and internal process audits
- Contributing to the development and improvement of quality control processes
- Supporting the project team and spreading quality awareness in the organization
The position is located in Västerås with the possibility of hybrid work 1–2 days a week. The role involves travel to suppliers and customers approximately 40 days per year.
We are looking for you who
We believe you are a careful and experienced person who thrives in a role where quality, structure, and collaboration are in focus. You are communicative, solution-oriented, and accustomed to working in technical environments with high demands.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree in, for example, mechanics, materials technology, quality, or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance, quality management, or quality control within the manufacturing industry
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing
Merits
- Experience from the nuclear power industry
- Experience with standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 3834-2, ASME III, or similar
- Certification in NDT or welding leadership
- Knowledge of CE marking, pressure systems, and lifting equipment
