The Forensic Psychiatry Regional Clinic is a specialized unit within forensic psychiatry that cares for both women and men, where the majority of our patients are committed to care by the court. We also receive patients from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service who are in need of psychiatric nursing and treatment. We have the whole of Sweden as our catchment area. The clinic is divided into different blocks with wards that have different focuses, which gives good opportunities to work within the area that you find particularly interesting.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse at the clinic, you are responsible for the nursing care of a number of patients. You are part of a team together with various professions such as care assistants, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, special educators, and treatment pedagogues, with the mission to support and motivate the patients in their care process. Supervision is a large part of the daily work as a nurse, and sometimes cross-ward work is required where your efforts are needed on other wards than your own.

What can forensic psychiatry offer you?

We offer you challenging tasks and good opportunities for development in the role of a nurse. You are also given the opportunity for further education.

We invest extra in our nurses. In addition to the base salary, you receive an allowance of 2,000 SEK. If you thrive with us, the allowance increases to 3,000 SEK after two years of employment. The allowance applies to nurses within the Forensic Psychiatry Clinic at Region Kronoberg.

In addition, you receive a bonus on earned on-call allowances, which means we give 50% extra in on-call compensation on the on-call allowance you have earned during the year.

Qualifications

• You are a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in psychiatry.
• Further education in psychiatry and/or education in CBT, MI, and ESL is meritorious.
• Education in and experience of low-affective handling is also meritorious.
• As a person, you are clear, secure, and have a positive attitude.
• You have an easy time collaborating and have a good view of humanity.
• You are also creative and have the ability to see solutions and opportunities in different situations.
