Ljungby Hospital is a 24/7 emergency hospital with a strong generalist mandate in western Kronoberg. Here, you will encounter a workplace that receives emergency patients within surgery, orthopedics, and urology, both through the emergency department and our care wards. At our hospital, you will have the opportunity to work broadly, close to the patients, and with short decision-making paths.

RESPONSIBILITIES

A hospital in motion - with a focus on safe emergency care

We provide limited trauma care, but offer a broad spectrum of emergency and planned surgical interventions. On the Surgical-Orthopedic Ward, we care for patients within gastrointestinal surgery, general surgery, urology, orthopedic emergencies, and planned care.

This gives you, as an employee, a unique opportunity to develop within several surgical areas and work closely with various specialist competencies.

An on-call organization that provides security

We offer primary and backup on-call lines 24/7.

• The primary on-call is shared by orthopedic surgeons and surgeons and handles urology, surgery, and orthopedics.
• Urological backup on-call is handled by surgical backup on-call.
• Orthopedic backup on-call is available in the evenings when needed and at other times via the surgeon's backup on-call.

You work in a team where collaboration and support are a natural part of everyday life.

Emergency surgeries and patient flows

No surgeries are performed at night at Ljungby Hospital. In case of emergency surgical needs, you are responsible for initial stabilization and assessment before any potential transfer to Växjö. We have a stabilization site at night and are actively working to establish intermediate beds to further strengthen our emergency care.

A growing operation - the hospital care of the future

In Week 34, we will open an acute care ward, an important part of Region Kronoberg's investment in the hospital care of the future. You will work in an environment where development is in focus, together with anesthesiologists and MIG teams who are on site 24/7.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a specialist in surgery, preferably with backup on-call competence.

An upper gastrointestinal focus (UGI) is an advantage, and endoscopy competence is seen as meritorious.

Depending on your experience and competence, primary and backup on-call may be included in the position.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities, where humility, teamwork, and attention to detail are cornerstones.
