Your new job

You will become part of our dementia unit, which consists of two units with a total of 20 places and an engaged team of approximately 20 employees. We work based on an ego-supportive approach and person-centered care according to BPSD (behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia).

Together, we work to give each resident a meaningful everyday life based on individual needs, wishes, and conditions. You will work with personal care, daily rehabilitation, and health-promoting measures that strengthen the individual's independence and well-being.

The role also includes providing advanced care and performing medical tasks such as medication management and simple wound dressings. Contact person responsibility, implementation plans, and social documentation are also central parts of the position.

Here, there is close cooperation with various professional groups such as nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and unit managers. You will also receive support and supervision from the municipality's dementia team and the BPSD team.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse (undersköterska) with experience in care and support work. If you are a care assistant (vårdbiträde) with experience and a strong interest in dementia care, you are also welcome to apply.

Experience in working with dementia care or cognitive impairment is meritorious.

Since contact with residents, relatives, and colleagues, as well as documentation and accessing relevant information, requires good knowledge of Swedish in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension. You also need good computer skills as documentation is done digitally.

The work requires physical mobility as situations arise that cannot be predicted and must be resolved in a way adapted to the situation.

Welcome to us

Kristinedal Elderly Care Home is centrally located in Väster, Jönköping, with good transport connections. The care home consists of four floors, which in turn are distributed across two dementia units, two short-term care units, a meeting point activity, and two units with ordinary elderly care. In total, we are about 55 employees working here. We are currently looking for assistant nurses or care assistants with experience for our dementia unit.

Good to know

The recruitment concerns a permanent full-time position as well as a six-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension. Start date is by agreement.

Working hours are scheduled during day and evening times, both weekdays and weekends. We work with joint planning, which means work across multiple units may occur. An offer of employment in another activity may also become relevant.
