Expansion in bedrock 120m underground

Skanska, in an exciting collaboration with Svensk Kärnbränslehantering AB (SKB), has the assignment to expand the existing final repository for short-lived radioactive waste (SFR) in Forsmark. This involves an expansion of approximately 117,000 cubic meters in the bedrock, 120–140 meters underground. A unique project, full of technical challenges, smart solutions, and the opportunity to work in one of Sweden's most fascinating rock environments.

About the role

In the role of Foreman, you will work with planning, directing, and monitoring daily tunnel production together with the rock workers. You are responsible for documentation of rock bolting, shotcrete, and grouting. You lead and motivate the work team in their daily tasks to follow and work towards set goals. The role also includes work preparation, diary notes, reporting of blasting rounds, responsibility for drilling and loading plans, and daily planning together with the Production Manager. In the role, you have many contact surfaces, such as subcontractors, clients, suppliers, and geologists.

An experienced tunnel driver and responsible leader

We are looking for you who already has a few years of experience in the role of Foreman in tunneling and who thrives in the role. To succeed here, we believe you need to be flexible and always have quality as a central factor in how you work. You are communicative and proactive, and you lead by good example in the leadership role regarding safety, responsibility, and planning. We focus on safety and a good work environment and want to work with inclusive teams – where we see that you share our values.

For this role, you need:

• 2–3 years of experience in foremanship within tunneling
• Category B driver's license
• Good Swedish in speech and writing
• Basic computer skills
• Meritorious if you have any of the following: blasting education, drilling license, CE license, certified rock worker.
