Make a difference. Every day.

Do you also want to make a difference for the newly delivered mother and the new family, both at home and on the maternity ward?

After three years as a pilot project, "BB-hemma" (Home-based Maternity Care) in Helsingborg has received approval to transition to a permanent care model. The service is highly appreciated, and our goal is to strengthen and develop postnatal care for the new family.

The time after childbirth can involve significant adjustments for the entire family, where support from the midwife is crucial. "BB-hemma" is a care model where families who go home within 48 hours are offered home visits by an experienced midwife. As a midwife, you will have the opportunity to make a difference where the whole family is included in their own home.

As a midwife in the maternity department, you work in a team where shifts are distributed between home visits, the maternity outpatient clinic, and the inpatient maternity ward.

On the Maternity Ward

On the maternity ward, we care for newly delivered mothers and babies born from gestational week 35. You will meet patients with varying care needs, where the type of intervention and length of hospital stay may vary. The maternity ward operates 24/7. Here, the newly delivered mother, together with her newborn baby and any partner, is offered a single room with a private toilet and shower in new, modern facilities adapted for postnatal care. We have close collaboration with the labor ward and neonatal care.

Job Responsibilities

If you are a midwife interested in a developing and varied role within postnatal care, there are great opportunities with us. You will have the opportunity to use your skills for individual assessment of the mother's and child's health, as well as family dynamics during the newborn period.

The work focuses on both the birthing person's and the child's health and well-being. Sampling and screening of the child are conducted according to the same guidelines as in the hospital, and the birthing person is offered follow-up on the birth experience and any tears. We place great emphasis on providing individual support, advice, and help in the early breastfeeding process.

As a new colleague, you will receive an individually tailored introduction.

Qualifications

We welcome you if you are a licensed midwife with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 on the Council of Europe's scale is required, as well as a valid B driver's license. Previous work experience in maternity care, labor wards, and/or mother-and-child health services, as well as experience and advanced training in breastfeeding, are meritorious for the position.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working independently and appreciates flexibility in work, as part of the work will take place in the patient's home. Your commitment and positive attitude contribute to a good work climate, which is why we place great importance on personal suitability.

As part of the suitability assessment, prior to offering employment, a check of the criminal record may be conducted.
