Do you want a meaningful job where you contribute to better living conditions for others? We are now looking for two support assistants/support persons for two LSS residences in Torvalla.
Here you work closely with people with various disabilities and provide support in daily life, both in and outside the home. The goal is to create conditions for as independent and active a life as possible. You will become part of an engaged team where you together create a safe and developmental environment. The work is based on the individual's needs and prerequisites and is characterized by a pedagogical approach according to Antonovsky's Sense of Coherence (SOC) (comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness).
The residences have separate common areas and offices. Working hours vary and are scheduled during the day, evening, on-call, and weekends. You work according to a rotating schedule with the opportunity to influence your schedule based on current guidelines. These positions are permanent with a scope of 100%. Start date is by agreement.
Your new job
As a support assistant, you will provide support to the citizen based on individual needs and prerequisites. You help the citizen manage their daily life and all the challenges that may arise.
Activities are a natural part of the work and can, for example, consist of walks, outings, social activities, or daily errands - always with the goal of strengthening participation and quality of life. The work is varied and requires that you can plan, prioritize, and carry out several tasks during a work shift. We collaborate closely with colleagues and other professions such as nurses, special needs teachers, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists to create a holistic approach around each individual. The role includes care, care-related interventions, and health care tasks performed on delegation. You document in the journal system Viva. Furthermore, the role includes being a contact person, which means you are responsible for planning, implementation, and follow-up of interventions, always with an enabling approach.
Common tasks
- Support and guidance in the individual's daily life
- Support with personal hygiene
- Grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, and other household chores
- Perform delegated health care tasks according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL), for example, medication management
- Participate in various activities together with the individual
- Documentation
Your qualifications
Requirements
- Upper secondary education. Preferably with a clear focus on care, social work, or pedagogy
- Good knowledge of Swedish (Speaking, writing, and reading comprehension)
Merits
- Trained assistant nurse/support assistant or other equivalent education that the employer deems suitable for the position
- Experience working in the disability field
- Good computer skills
- Class B driver's license
