We offer you an important and varied role where you are responsible for coordinating special housing places, short-term places, and respite care, both in municipal housing and in the placement of special housing places at the private housing facility on Tullkvarnsvägen.

At our workplace, we work closely together and support each other where needed. To create a secure and stable operation, we help each other across different roles and functions, both during planned and unplanned absences.

The Social Services Administration consists of approximately 600 dedicated employees who work every day to make a difference in people's lives. The assignment is broad and meaningful, and the operations are close to the citizens throughout the municipality. The administration is divided into five operational areas where we jointly take responsibility for providing care and support, assistance and service, as well as health and medical care. We are here for the municipality's residents whenever needs arise throughout all stages of life, with care, respect, and a warm welcome.

 

A day as a Housing Coordinator in special housing

The assignment involves continuously working with inflow, placement, and follow-up of our elderly residents in need of special housing, short-term stays, or respite care.

You handle incoming needs for housing places and match these against available places based on assessed care needs, current legislation, the conditions of the operations, and the individual's wishes. The role includes planning and prioritizing placements, as well as monitoring occupancy and flows in both short-term and special housing.

You collaborate closely with social workers, unit managers, and other relevant actors, both within and outside the organization. An important part of the assignment is to ensure that processes are coordinated, efficient, and legally secure.

In your role, you need to be able to switch between a detailed focus and an overarching helicopter perspective. You have the ability to see the whole picture, understand how different parts and functions are connected and influence each other, and how the flow affects all parts of the operation. With a curious and solution-focused approach, you tackle challenges and contribute to creating structure and clarity.

Main responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and allocate housing places, short-term, and respite care places
  • Be responsible for placements and follow-ups
  • Ensure efficient flows within special housing and short-term care
  • Collaborate with caseworkers, unit managers, and external actors
  • Report to both internal and external actors such as the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) and the Inspectorate for Care and Health Services (IVO)
  • Documentation in the system Viva
  • Participate in the development of routines, working methods, and perform other administrative work

 

Your qualifications

You who apply should have a relevant academic education such as Social Work, Behavioral Science, Social Care, Public Administration, or another academic education that the employer deems relevant for the role.

We welcome applicants with experience in social work, needs assessment, case handling, or long experience in elderly care, or alternatively, experience deemed equivalent.

You have good knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL) and experience in reading and interpreting authority decisions.

It is meritorious if you have experience working in different systems and programs, such as Viva, Heroma, CosmicLink, and Excel. We also appreciate that you have an interest in and enjoy working with new technical and digital solutions.

We value personal qualities such as good social skills and present, clear communication. You are secure and stable, with the ability to meet people in complex situations where strong emotions are often present.

You have an empathetic and respectful attitude and can adapt your approach to people's different needs and life situations.

Since the assignment involves many contact and collaboration surfaces, we see that you work independently, take responsibility, and create structure in your work. You have the ability to prioritize, follow up, and drive the work forward, even when conditions change.

We assume that you can express yourself well in speech and writing and that you have a driver's license, category B.

 

Other information

Fixed-term employment on a full-time basis for the period 2026-09-01 to 2027-06-06. Possibility of permanent employment may exist after the fixed-term period.
