We are looking for a social secretary to the Unit for Children and Families, located at our reception center. At the unit, we aim to contribute to good upbringing conditions for children and young people. We work with children and young people aged 0–18, as well as their parents and networks. It is important and rewarding work, but far from simple.

Your new job

As a social secretary at the reception of the Unit for Children and Families, you are often the first point of contact for children, families, concerned citizens, and authorities making reports of concern. Your main task is to receive, assess, and investigate incoming reports of concern and applications regarding children and young people up to 18 years old and their families. The work is characterized by a high pace, legal assessment according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU), counseling, and close collaboration with other partners and authorities. It may also involve investigating children's needs and parents' capabilities based on reports of concern and applications.

The work is interesting, challenging, and multifaceted, and suits you if you enjoy being stimulated by complex situations and challenges that require problem-solving and creativity.

When you start with us, you will receive an introduction and support to grow into your role. We provide collegial support, close leadership, weekly case review meetings, and external supervision. All social secretaries undergo further education in the national "Yrkesresan" (Career Journey). We work in an activity-based office environment with different zones, and there is some possibility of remote work.

Common tasks

• Conduct safety assessments and preliminary assessments based on incoming reports of concern.
• Initial contact with children, parents, and partners.
• Investigate, assess, and make decisions in cases, as well as documentation.
• Support and help people in critical and challenging situations.
• Counseling conversations and collaboration with partners and authorities.

Your qualifications

Requirements

• You have a degree in Social Work (Social Work Bachelor's).
• You have experience in authority operations within social child and youth care.
• You have good computer skills.
• You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• You have a valid driver's license (Category B).

Meritorious

• Education and experience working with "Signs of Safety".
• Knowledge and experience working in the business system Viva.
