The Child and Family Unit is developing, and we are now looking for you, a social secretary with experience and interest in working with children, parents, and families within the Individual and Family Care in Krokom Municipality. We welcome your application!

Welcome to us!

At Child and Family, 15 social secretaries work, including three senior social secretaries and the nearest decision-making manager. We are divided into the reception function, investigation and interventions, and family law.

The legislation we base our work on is primarily the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU). Working with us involves a high degree of collaboration with both internal and external partners.

The Individual and Family Care (IFO) of the Social Administration is organized into four units: the Child and Family Unit, the Adult Unit, the Outpatient Care Unit, and the Labor Market and Integration Unit.

The Social Administration consists of 600 employees where the scope of assignments is extensive. The administration is divided into five business areas and is located throughout the municipality. Here, responsibility lies in providing care and support, assistance and services, as well as health and medical care to the municipality's citizens who need it, at all stages of life.

A day as a social secretary at Child and Family

As a social secretary with us, you will among other things:

  • Keep up to date with current legislation and develop your knowledge in the area

A day with us means you work in a positive and supportive environment where you have the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally. You have flexible working hours that make it easy to create balance between work and private life. Your work is meaningful and contributes directly to the well-being of the residents. The daily routine contains varied and inspiring tasks, and you get continuous opportunities for competence development within your area.

  • Have experience with child welfare investigations and/or working with placed children
  • Have knowledge of current legislation, primarily the Social Services Act and LVU
  • Are empathetic, flexible, and value collaboration

As a person, you are self-reliant and courageous. You thrive working in a dynamic environment with a varying pace. Important for the role is that you have a respectful, professional, and present approach with the best interests of the child at the center.

Great importance is attached to personal qualities.

Krokom, the municipality in the middle of Jämtland

Krokom Municipality's borders stretch from the shores of Lake Storsjön in the south, to the extensive and wild mountains in the north, and in the east, the large forests of the northern inland take over. Here live just over 15,700 inhabitants, in the middle of Jämtland County, with proximity to good communications to the rest of Sweden. Here there are fantastic opportunities for a rich cultural and outdoor life. People move here and want to stay, for here life itself takes place. The municipality is part of a Sami administrative area, which means we work to strengthen the Sami language, to make the culture visible, and to give the Sami influence.
