The Disability Sector is seeking support assistants for two LSS (Acts Supporting and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) residences in central Östersund and Torvalla. Working hours are varied and include day, evening, and sleeping night shifts (on-call nights).
The citizens receiving daily support have various functional impairments, requiring a pedagogical, low-affective, and clear approach. It is important to base your actions on each individual's conditions and daily state, as the need for support can vary from day to day.
Your new job
As a support assistant, you provide support to citizens based on their individual needs and conditions. Building relationships is therefore an important part of the work, as it contributes to a safe and stable environment.
Since you help citizens manage their daily lives and the challenges that may arise, both inside and outside the home, your task is to create good conditions for as independent a life as possible.
Being calm, empathetic, and stress-resistant is important when working with people, as no two days are alike. The role requires the ability to handle stressful situations and to be proactive when various challenges arise. Empathy is a key trait as it allows you to see situations from the citizen's perspective and thereby understand the individual's needs.
As citizens have different functional impairments, it is important to be able to work pedagogically and be clear in your approach and communication. This helps provide the right support and create structure in daily life, increasing the conditions for security and predictability. It is also important to be able to meet citizens who are in an emotional state in a low-affective manner.
We are looking for someone who is loyal and respects the decisions made by the work group, and who understands the importance of standing behind the collective effort. You are someone who dares to be open and actively participates in developing and improving methods that benefit the citizens. Together with the team, you contribute to creating a work environment where mutual trust and collaboration are central to achieving common goals.
