Project Manager / Design Manager at Norconsult

Can you align goals, people, and complex construction processes from concept to completed building? Come drive projects forward with structure, business acumen, and clear leadership.

The Project & Construction Management department consists of three teams based in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö. The teams currently comprise 6–8 employees with varied experience and specialist knowledge, creating a positive collaborative climate. We aim to expand the teams to strengthen our local presence and to build upon the expertise of key personnel who can lead our largest general consultancy assignments.

Our clients are both public and private, at all stages of a project. We preferably drive projects from the early concept phase through to the completed building, often in collaboration with colleagues.

We want to expand the department with you if you work as a Project Manager or Design Manager, as this is our core business. However, we also offer services such as construction management, BAS-P (Safety Coordinator), control responsibility, and cost estimation.

Your Profile

We are looking for both candidates with 5 years of experience and those with 10 years of experience in the role of Project Manager or Design Manager for construction and property projects.

You have strong commitment, natural drive, and a willingness to take responsibility for both assignments and people. As a person, you are best described as proactive, solution-oriented, and able to see opportunities where others see challenges. You thrive in social settings, build trusting relationships, and actively contribute to the development of both the team and the business.

Coaching, supporting, and developing colleagues is a natural part of your leadership style. You combine a strategic perspective with a flat hierarchy approach and enjoy sharing your experience.

To succeed in the role, you need:

  • A university degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 or 10 years of experience in construction project management/design management.
  • Fluent communication skills in Swedish, both written and spoken.

The following qualifications are considered meritorious:

  • BAS-P/U (Safety Coordinator)
  • Good knowledge of contract law
  • Cost estimation
  • KA-K certification

Furthermore, you have an established client network and understand the value of long-term relationships and business development. You are accustomed to leading and coordinating others, creating structure in assignments, and ensuring resources are used efficiently.

For those with over 10 years of experience, we also look for a genuine interest in supporting, coaching, and developing younger colleagues, as well as contributing your experience to the continued development of the business. You are comfortable representing the business in steering groups and other strategic forums.

We are Norconsult

Norconsult is one of the leading consultancy firms in the Nordics within societal construction, combining engineering, architecture, and digital expertise in projects of all sizes for private and public clients. Through innovation and collaboration, and with our purpose "Every day we improve everyday life," we constantly seek sustainable, efficient, and socially beneficial solutions. We have 7,200 employees in the group and 1,500 employees in Sweden spread across 40 offices. With over 140 offices in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Poland, and Finland, we combine cross-disciplinary expertise with local presence.

At Norconsult, equal value for all is a fundamental prerequisite. Our goal is for our employees to have the same opportunities to reach their full potential, regardless of who they are or how they identify. A greater breadth of perspectives helps us understand all parts of society, challenges us in our assignments, and leads to a higher degree of innovation. We therefore welcome employees with different backgrounds and experiences. You need to master Swedish fluently in speech and writing to function in the role, but it is not a requirement that it is your native language.
