The Neurosurgery and Pain Rehabilitation area in Lund is one of seven neurosurgical operations in Sweden. We offer highly specialized care in the Southern Healthcare Region to patients of all ages with injuries and diseases of the central nervous system. The operation consists of an operating department, a neuro-intensive care unit (NIVA), a clinic, an inpatient ward, and day care. Currently, the operation employs just over 250 staff members. Research projects are conducted within the area, where operating staff are involved, for example, we have started operating patients in an MRI scanner and also have a scrub nurse conducting research.

The operating department is equipped with high technology, including navigation systems, microscopes, and ultrasound equipment. We perform both short and long procedures. Approximately 30 staff members work at the Neurosurgery Operating Department, collaborating closely in cross-professional teams consisting of scrub nurses, nursing assistants, radiographer technicians, biomedical engineers, operations staff, and medical secretaries. Furthermore, we collaborate closely with anesthesia staff at the unit. The majority of the staff have many years of experience in neurosurgical care, and we highly value care quality, security, safety, and hygiene. We are in the final stages of implementing the competence and job model.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We now welcome you, the scrub nurse, to a stimulating job where you have a significant role in the collaboration with colleagues in the operating team!

In the role of scrub nurse, you plan and organize the day's operations in your operating room. There is a wide variety of diagnoses and types of procedures performed, which leads to varied workdays and tasks. There are opportunities to deepen your knowledge within a special area and collaborate with colleagues at other units within the operation to jointly develop care for our patients.

As a new employee, you receive an individually adapted introduction based on your previous experience. We assume that everyone has an individual learning process and consider it a given that you will receive support from colleagues to become confident in your new role. During the introduction, you will follow the patient through the operation to gain a better understanding of the patient's care pathway. We apply a preference schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you have specialized education in operating room nursing and Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale.
