Laboratory Medicine Base is a specialty-independent and growing business area within the Medical Services administration. We provide healthcare with diagnostics to support care and treatment, and we conduct broad and high-tech operations within the specialties of Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine, as well as sample collection and functional examinations.

The operations will expand further in the coming years to adapt the diagnostic offering to future healthcare needs. To maintain quality and competence, we continuously collaborate with other business areas within the administration and have close cooperation with managers, process leaders, and physicians within these specialties. Together, we actively work to develop and improve methods, flows, and processes to create competitiveness adapted to the future needs of healthcare.

In addition to diagnostics, the operations' mandate also includes consultancy services for healthcare, education of, among others, physicians and biomedical scientists, and collaboration with universities regarding current research and development projects. Our operations also include the area of imaging and laboratory technology, which is responsible for medical technical safety. The operations are conducted in nine locations in Scania (Helsingborg, Hässleholm, Kristianstad, Landskrona, Lund, Malmö, Trelleborg, Ystad, and Ängelholm) and consist of approximately 500 employees, where the largest personnel category is biomedical scientists. We also employ other professional categories such as biomedical engineers, administrators, assistant nurses, and nurses. Together, we issue approximately 17 million test results annually.

Job Description

Now you have the chance to join us! As a biomedical scientist, you will have a varied job with good opportunities to influence the operations. We are now looking for two biomedical scientists who want to be part of our continued development.

The position includes analytical work with a focus on chemistry, transfusion medicine, and microbiology. The position also involves scheduled working hours at our sample collection unit and our functional clinic. You work independently with great ownership of your tasks. Furthermore, you are active in the business area's quality work, responsible for the training and education of new employees and students. As an employee with us, you will undergo an internal training program that takes place during daytime.

Your working hours include day, evening, weekend, and night shifts. Your placement will be in the northwest, which means work can be located in Helsingborg, Ängelholm, or Landskrona. The main place of work is Helsingborg.

Qualifications

You who apply are a licensed biomedical scientist with the authorization to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. Knowledge of other languages is considered an asset for the position. It is also advantageous to have experience of analytical work within transfusion medicine and/or clinical chemistry, as well as knowledge and experience of venous and capillary sampling in adults and children.

As a person, you are responsible and empathetic with a good ability to work both independently and in a group. You are quality-conscious and meticulous in your work and have a structured approach. Furthermore, you are professional in your interactions and can communicate with both internal and external contacts. During intensive periods, your work requires that you can reprioritize and adapt to changed circumstances, as well as having the ability to adapt to changed planning.
