Clinical chemistry and clinical pharmacology operations are conducted at Region Skåne's nine hospitals, with an annual production of approximately 16 million analysis results. Our customers are located both within and outside Region Skåne. The medical staff, which includes physicians, are medically responsible and methodologically responsible for laboratory diagnostics, as well as for sampling, functional examinations, and patient-near analyses.
The Area of Operations (VO) for Clinical Chemistry and Pharmacology has approximately 145 employees, mainly biomedical analysts, hospital chemists, and physicians. The organization is structured into units and processes with unit managers and process leaders working in close collaboration.
We work purposefully to ensure an accessible and quality-assured operation. As an accredited laboratory, we work with standardized methods that ensure quality, traceability, and comparable analysis results, contributing to safe and equal care. We continuously develop our methods and workflows to meet the current and future needs of healthcare.
We actively contribute to education, research, and knowledge dissemination, including medical consultation. Clinical chemistry, together with clinical pharmacology, forms a university healthcare unit where research and teaching are integrated parts of the operation in collaboration with Lund University.

DUTIES
We are now looking forward to welcoming a licensed physician to the Physician Unit for Clinical Chemistry within the VO for Clinical Chemistry and Pharmacology for a six-month fixed-term assignment.
The work involves being part of the daily operations and contributing to its development, in close collaboration with physicians, hospital chemists, and laboratory staff. The role includes performing medical assessments of laboratory analyses, participating in external consulting activities, and covering internal day shifts. Teaching and participation in development and research work are also integral parts of the assignment.
The work is scheduled during office hours and is primarily based in Lund, but travel to other laboratories within Skåne may occur.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you if you are a licensed physician with the authorization to practice in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 on the Council of Europe scale is a requirement. Interest in and merits in research and/or data analysis are particularly advantageous for the position.

The laboratory medicine operation covers areas such as occupational and environmental medicine, biobank, genetics, immunology and transfusion medicine, chemistry, pharmacology, microbiology, and pathology. Infectious disease control and healthcare hygiene also belong to the administration. We also conduct research within the administration.
