About the Department

The Social Assistance Office currently consists of three units: disability, elderly, and reception. A common feature for all units is our close collaboration. The Disability Investigation Unit investigates applications within the disability area based on LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and SoL (Social Services Act). The Elderly Investigation Unit investigates applications for adults and the elderly. The Reception Unit receives all new applications and then distributes cases to the investigation units.

An development project is underway to create a new role. This new role aims to complement the existing social assistance work with a more pronounced psychosocial perspective.

Responsibilities

As a Social Secretary, you work with receiving applications. You investigate needs, make assessments, and decide on cases according to the SoL and LSS acts. Documentation is done in the Viva system. We meet the municipality's residents at our office, but also at meeting places, at home, or at the hospital. The work involves both internal and external collaboration. Together, we are responsible for ensuring the entire operation functions and help where needed.

The new role involves working closely with the user and other professions to identify needs early, coordinate interventions, and provide guidance, without making official administrative decisions. The approach becomes more person-centered and is based on close collaboration, with the ambition to increase accessibility, strengthen the individual's own abilities, and reduce the need for more extensive interventions later on.

As a new employee, you will receive an introduction and a mentor for support. We continuously work with quality improvement and have a competency year wheel with internal training.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a social worker or behavioral scientist with social law rights. Experience with administrative decision-making, elderly care, and LSS is positive. Since we make home visits, you need to have a B-driver's license. It is an advantage if you have experience documenting in Viva and using IBIC as an assessment instrument.

We are looking for someone who easily understands and empathizes with other people's life situations. You handle making difficult decisions and enjoy driving your cases independently. You thrive with a varied work pace, and that no two days are alike. Naturally, you are a team player who has the ability to collaborate with several actors to achieve a successful result.
