WE WANT SWEDEN'S HAPPIEST RESIDENTS. ARE YOU JOINING US?

In Flens Municipality, we are investing in building something long-term. A society where people thrive, grow, and stay. Our new and bold vision, Flen – Sweden's Happiest Municipality, is more than just words. It is a direction we have chosen together and a reminder of who we are here for. In every meeting with a resident, in every decision we make, in every day we shape – we should think with our hearts. And it starts with us. We are now looking for a Support Pedagogue for the disability services area.

HERE ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Support Pedagogue in Flens Municipality, you have overall responsibility for pedagogical work, quality development, and social documentation. Your most important task is to be a role model and spread knowledge about pedagogical methods to employees. You develop, follow up on, and improve working methods to ensure that operations maintain high quality and that users' needs are met.

You are responsible for 3–4 units and collaborate with other support pedagogues to strengthen pedagogical work across the entire department. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that all users have the opportunity for development, participation, and self-determination in accordance with current laws and guidelines.

You support employees through supervision and training in clarifying pedagogy and other methods that promote users' independence and well-being. You lead quality meetings and drive development work in work groups.

To ensure good collaboration between different actors in operations, you are responsible for coordination and communication. You receive new assignments from coordinators or managers, inform employees, and assist with the introduction and implementation of new working methods. You also report needs for methodological support and competence development to coordinators or managers.

Additionally, you are responsible for developing and ensuring the quality of social documentation, creating implementation plans, and following up to ensure that work is carried out effectively.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE:

  • A university college degree as a Support Pedagogue of at least 200 YH credits.
  • Good knowledge of using computers and digital tools.
  • Experience with clarifying pedagogy and low-affective handling.
  • Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • A valid B-driver's license.

WE VALUE THE FOLLOWING HIGHLY:

  • Post-secondary education within the disability services area.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities or persistent mental disabilities.
  • Very good knowledge and many years of experience working with clarifying pedagogy, for example, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).

YOUR PERSONAL QUALITIES

We believe you are a person who takes responsibility and enjoys having several tasks going on at the same time. You are flexible and adapt to new situations, while being thorough and structured in your work. As a Support Pedagogue, you are service-oriented and find it easy to collaborate with others, but you can also work independently when needed.

You are creative and solution-focused, and enjoy developing work groups and driving operations forward. Your ability to see opportunities and find new ways of working is important for success in this role.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

WHY WORK WITH US?

In Flens Municipality, we want to give you good conditions to thrive both at and outside of work. We offer, among other things, holiday swapping, wellness benefits, and reimbursement for patient fees up to the high-cost protection limit – and there are more benefits than that. Many of our workplaces also have good commuting options. You can read more about what it is like to work with us on the municipality's website: flen.se.

READY TO APPLY?

We recruit based on competence and do not read cover letters. Apply by attaching your CV, any certificates, and answering the selection questions. As an applicant, you are responsible for clearly documenting your competence in your answers to the questions, as these form the basis for our assessment. Be sure to answer thoroughly and avoid referring to your CV.

During the interview, you will need to show valid identification, such as a passport or national ID card. A driver's license together with a certificate of personal data (downloadable via the Swedish Tax Agency) is also acceptable. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must instead show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement.

About the position:

  • Scope: Full-time, permanent (probation may apply). Full-time equivalent 38.25 hours per week.
  • Start date: According to agreement.
  • Salary: Individual salary setting.
  • Application deadline: 2026-08-09
  • Working hours: Daytime, evening, and weekends.

Before potential employment:

  • In the employment of employees in leading positions, operationally critical roles, operations with children, or work in the homes of the elderly and adults with disabilities, the employer may request extracts from the crime register and background check.
  • Union representatives can be reached via Contact Center, 0157-43 00 00.

NOTE! If you have protected personal data, you should not submit your application via our system. Contact the municipality's website or the Contact Center for instructions.

Welcome to Flen!
