The administration's task is to offer adults guidance and education in lifelong learning. Within the administration, there is also guidance and support for adults' individual development towards self-sufficiency. The administration is responsible for integration and also coordinates labor market policy measures.

Description

The labor market activities in Forshaga Municipality are part of the Learning and Work administration and are included in the Individual and Development unit. The unit also includes activities such as integration, economic assistance, the municipality's activity responsibility, and holiday internships.

Our mission is to offer work-oriented measures that strengthen individuals' opportunities to approach or achieve self-sufficiency through work or studies. In view of upcoming activity requirements, we need to strengthen our operations and are therefore looking for a labor market consultant who will work with people aged 18–67 who may have various types of barriers to establishing themselves on the labor market – for example, physical, mental, social, or other work-related challenges.

Job Responsibilities

As a labor market consultant, you work closely with the participant to identify needs and create conditions for progression towards work or studies.

The work is largely independent but also involves close collaboration within the unit and with other actors. We work closely together, and the position also includes helping colleagues and contributing to operations when needed.

In the role, you are responsible for, among other things:

  • Creating individual labor market plans
  • Conducting individual conversations focused on motivation and guidance
  • Mapping the participant's abilities, interests, and needs
  • Planning and following up on measures
  • Cooperating with internship sites and employers
  • Collaborating with the municipality's operations and external parties such as the Swedish Public Employment Service and the Social Insurance Agency
  • Conducting group activities
  • Documenting, following up, and reporting on measures
  • Contributing to the development of operations and continuous improvements

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, you have:

  • A university education as a behavioral scientist, social worker, or other equivalent education
  • At least 2 years of experience in social work
  • Experience in motivational work, behavior change, and individual conversations
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing
  • Good documentation habits
  • Class B driver's license

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working as a labor market consultant in municipal operations
  • Experience collaborating with the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Social Insurance Agency, and the region
  • Knowledge within Supported Employment and IPS (Individual Placement and Support)
  • Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI)

You are a relationship-building and secure person with a solution-focused approach. You are flexible, receptive, and have a good ability to structure and drive processes forward towards set goals.

Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.

Offer

With us, you receive various benefits such as wellness allowance and wellness hours. For those who do not live in the municipality, there are good commuting opportunities, for example, with a bike path along the Klarälven line and a bus from Karlstad every 20 minutes. We act in the best interest of the individual and work for a sustainable society. We improve and develop by learning from good examples. We have a permissive climate with respect for each other.

As a new employee in Forshaga Municipality, you receive 500 extra points with Forshagabostäder, which is enough to get an apartment.

Conditions

The position is permanent with a probationary period.

Welcome with your application! We want you to send your application via our recruitment tool on our website. Information on how we handle your personal data can be found here. If for some reason you cannot apply (e.g., protected identity), please contact the advertisement's contact person for an alternative application path.
