Description
The Division of Educational Support consists of the Unit for Internationalization and Collaboration, the Unit for Student Support, and the Unit for Educational Services. The latter handles the university's admissions, graduations, study administrative systems, and exam coordination.
For the autumn term 2026, the Unit for Educational Services is seeking additional exam invigilators to work extra during exam sessions. You will meet students during their examination occasions and support the process. You contribute to ensuring students have a good experience and that examinations are conducted in a legally secure manner and in accordance with current regulations.
Job Responsibilities
As an exam invigilator, you have an important role. You contribute to ensuring that examinations are conducted in a legally secure manner and that exam rules are followed during the exam session.
The main responsibilities include maintaining good order during the exam session, as well as controlling and supervising students during the writing period. This also includes, for example, attendance checks, entry control, collection of completed exams, and some administrative tasks.
The work also involves being well-versed in the rules applicable to the exams to be able to provide clear information and instructions to students, in both Swedish and English.
Exams are conducted both digitally and on paper, and they take place on-site at Karlstad University's premises. You will be part of a team where you work together to provide students with a good experience during their exam sessions.
Who are we looking for?
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous work or studies at a university or college are meritorious, as is experience in tasks involving control of assignments and adherence to regulations or similar.
To function and thrive in the role of exam invigilator, you must have sufficient knowledge and experience in using computers. You also need good knowledge of Swedish and English (both spoken and written).
Meeting with students is a large part of the job, so you need to have good service skills. To handle unforeseen situations that may arise, you must be stress-resistant and solution-oriented. It is also important that you are structured, meticulous, and have an easy time collaborating with others in a group.
You cannot be a student at the university and simultaneously work as an exam invigilator at Karlstad University.

Conditions
As an exam invigilator at Karlstad University, you are employed on a case-by-case basis and receive an hourly wage. The number of work opportunities offered varies depending on need. You will receive an offer when there is a need, which varies during the terms. Working hours are weekdays and weekends, both daytime and evening, when exams are conducted.
