About the role and your responsibilities

The school nurse's role includes monitoring students' development towards knowledge goals, working health-promoting and preventive, following the base program, and implementing vaccination programs. You organize school doctor visits and, in isolated cases, perform simpler healthcare interventions. You are interested in working with preventive health work as well as managing the other routine tasks for a well-functioning medical school health service.

As a school nurse, you work for a safe school environment that promotes health, learning, and security. You are part of the school's student health team together with the school counselor, school psychologist, social pedagogue, special educators, and school leadership. The joint mission of the student health team, together with other staff, is to promote a safe environment and create good conditions for health, development, and learning.

As a school nurse, you will also collaborate with guardians as well as other operations and authorities outside the school. You are also part of a professional network with other school nurses in the municipality with regular meetings for quality development and support in work, led by the medically responsible person.

We are looking for you

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with specialist education as a children's nurse, district nurse, or school nurse. It is meritorious if you have experience working as a school nurse in primary school, especially in grades 4-9. It is also meritorious if you have experience in health-promoting work with children and young people.

To succeed in the assignment, you need to have a genuine interest in the school's students and a willingness to support students in reaching the goals in collaboration with teaching teachers. We believe that you are a positive force who wants and has the ability to create good relationships with students, staff, and guardians. Furthermore, you take your own initiatives and have the ability to work independently. You collaborate with the school's student health through preventive work. You also have good communication skills and collaborate with everyone at the school for the students' best interests.

We would like to see that you have a desire to further develop the school nurse assignment together with the student health team, educators, and other colleagues in Lund Municipality's medical student health. The assignment also involves documentation in digital tools, so good knowledge of digital documentation is therefore a requirement. It is meritorious if you have experience working in the Prorenata system.

Killebäckskolan is located in the beautiful nature of Södra Sandby, just east of Lund. You can easily get here by bike, bus, or car. We are a grades 4-9 school with approximately 490 students.
