Rehabilitation Medicine at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) is one of Sweden's largest players in rehabilitation. Our operations are located both in Lund and at Orup Hospital outside Höör, where each unit has its own profile and competence.

The Spinal Cord Injury Unit at Sus is one of Sweden's leading providers of spinal cord injury care and rehabilitation. We have been entrusted by the National Board of Health and Welfare to operate as one of four nationally highly specialized units.

At Orup Hospital, we offer highly specialized rehabilitation for individuals who have suffered acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, or other conditions requiring intensive and team-based rehabilitation. The hospital is beautifully situated by Ringsjön lake, surrounded by forests and walking trails, enriching both patient rehabilitation and the work environment for you as an employee.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse, you are a key part of the patient's rehabilitation process and the team. In nursing care, you work closely with both nursing colleagues and assistant nurses. Furthermore, you have daily collaboration with other team members; doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, social workers, psychologists, and medical secretaries. Leisure consultants, rehab assistants, and rehab coaches are also part of the patient's rehabilitation.

We work person-centered in interdisciplinary teams and value high patient involvement. A rehabilitation plan is created together with the patient and followed up regularly. The average length of stay is two to twelve weeks, meaning you get to follow the patient's development and improvement. The goal of rehabilitation is for the person to become as active and independent as possible. Together we coach and offer training and treatment interventions so that they can achieve their goals in family life, work, and leisure. Good teamwork, good communication, and well-established structures for the rehabilitation process enable our patients to make great progress in a short time.

Here we provide advanced healthcare at a calmer pace, as there must be time for each individual patient and their relatives to adapt to their new circumstances. Giving the patient knowledge and motivation to take responsibility and be involved in decisions regarding their own health and well-being is part of your role as a nurse. During evenings and weekends, you work across our three wards. The collaboration is strong between our units, enabling good insight and competence development also within the other wards' patient groups.

We want you to participate in our continuous improvement work, where we have used a systematic quality system with accreditation in rehabilitation medicine (CARF) for many years. Your employment begins with a guided introduction adapted to your individual needs. In the introduction program, you have side-by-side time with other professional categories to provide a good foundation for close teamwork.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are also a requirement.

As a person, you are flexible, have good collaboration skills, enjoy working in a team, and have an interest in working pedagogically and motivationally. You take initiative and are independent while contributing to a good working climate. We value that you have a good attitude towards everyone around you and a service-oriented mindset.
