The Department of Cardiology and Pulmonary Medicine (HLM) at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) consists of four sections: heart failure and valve, arrhythmia, coronary artery disease, and the lung and allergy unit. We provide highly specialized care for heart and lung diseases in both Lund and Malmö. Nursing rounds are being introduced and will be an important part of patient care, where the interprofessional team plans for patients.

The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (HIA) is the country's largest center for the treatment of acute heart disease, and we provide high-tech care. Here, you have opportunities for further education, development, and research as an individual employee. Our unit is characterized by employee-driven development where every employee is a crucial part of our goal: to be Sweden's leading cardiac intensive care and interventional unit. We work in groups to develop care in a process-oriented manner, always together with doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, social workers, and medical secretaries as equal members.

Several of our employees have extensive experience in cardiac intensive care. With this solid competence, we are ready to welcome both experienced and newly graduated colleagues. After some time with us, you will be equally comfortable receiving a patient directly from an ambulance stretcher with an ongoing heart attack, as providing meticulous specialized nursing care to a highly unstable heart failure patient awaiting heart transplantation.

Job Description

We welcome nurses to HIA and are looking for you who thrive and want to work in a team caring for critically ill heart patients.

In the role of a nurse with us, you have significant opportunities to develop in your role and deepen your knowledge and competence within the most advanced heart care in Sweden. You work with the nursing care of our heart patients. The care provided is high-tech, including mechanical left ventricular assist with Impella pump, intra-aortic balloon pump, and continuous advanced hemodynamic monitoring.

As a new employee, you are offered a thorough introduction with theory and practical guidance, with the goal that you feel safe and happy in our unit. The theoretical part includes lectures, as well as our training program which HIA employees have largely helped develop. Scheduled training days are included. There are also good opportunities for further education at conferences, through interest associations, and much more.

The position also includes, after training, duty at the Cardiac Outpatient Clinic for Angiography and Intervention where we examine and treat patients with coronary artery disease. There, you are responsible for the nursing care of the patients. Afterwards, you will learn about the X-ray machines, materials, and possibilities. You start by being responsible for the patient's nursing care and then learn about the X-ray machines and materials. Additionally, there is an opportunity to start assisting with interventions.

Qualifications

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have Swedish language skills of at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Previous experience from heart care is meritorious for the position.
