At Toyota Material Handling, we constantly challenge ourselves to ensure our products are the best on the market, and we are world leaders in material handling. We operate in an industry where our customers demand higher efficiency and lower environmental impact. To the Product Engineering department within R&D, we are now looking for several Mechanical Design Engineers. We are looking for you who want to be a key part of our work to develop and improve our product range. You will get to work on problem-solving, test your designs in our lab, and see your finished solutions in our production.

Become part of the future truck development at Toyota!

Here at Product Engineering within R&D, you will have the chance to help shape the next generation of trucks – from the first idea to the finished product. We work on further developing our entire broad product program, and here the path from sketch to reality is both short and exciting.

What you will do here:

  • Develop and improve our truck models – both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues.
  • Work in a dynamic environment with short development cycles, where your ideas quickly become reality to meet customer needs.
  • Solve technical challenges in several areas and support both production and suppliers with your expertise.
  • Collaborate with our quality department to investigate and prevent quality and safety issues.

Your team and way of working:
You will become part of an engaged and cross-functional team with mechanical and electrical design engineers. Together, we optimize our products with a focus on quality, cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and sustainability. We work agilely, which means you will have significant influence over how you plan and follow up on your work – always with a focus on what creates the most value.

Your development:
Here, you will have the opportunity to grow into a quality-conscious problem solver with a holistic perspective. We believe that development happens best in an environment where you are given responsibility, can test new things, and collaborate closely with others.

Your profile
For the position of Mechanical Design Engineer, we are looking for you who have/are:

  • A Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or alternatively a Bachelor of Science with relevant work experience.
  • Experience from relevant previous work.
  • Experience with CAD programs (we work with CATIA V5).
  • Customer-oriented and requirement-driven thinking – the ability to understand customer needs and requirements, and translate these into functional and sustainable technical solutions.
  • Good skills in Swedish and English.

We are looking for an experienced mechanical design engineer who wants to join an exciting journey in a successful company. Here, you will have the opportunity to take an active role in the development work and contribute your skills and previous experience in an engaged team.

You will work with innovative solutions in a technically advanced and rapidly developing environment, where you are expected to take responsibility for your projects and drive the work forward. The role involves a broad area of responsibility where you work with the entire development process – from idea to finished solution – and contribute with both specialist knowledge and a holistic perspective.
