Just a kitchen, you might think.
But at Nobia, we know it’s about something much bigger!
Behind every functioning kitchen lies a production where design, technology, precision, and people work together. To ensure high quality all the way – from supplier to finished product – structured and proactive quality work is required. This is where you, as a SQA Engineer, come in.
Your role with us
As an SQA Engineer, together with the SQA Manager, you are part of Nobia’s Supplier Quality Assurance team and are responsible for the quality of purchased products and components from our suppliers. The role is both operational and preventive, focusing on reducing quality defects and driving continuous improvements in the supply chain.
You work closely with purchasing, production, supply chain, and product development to identify, analyze, and resolve deviations, ensuring that quality requirements are integrated early into processes and changes. The work includes supplier follow-up, deviation management, root cause analysis, improvement plans, PDI, and supplier audits as needed – with the goal of creating stable deliveries, high product quality, and increased customer satisfaction.
In the role of SQA Engineer, you will among other things:
- Act as an escalation function in the NCP process towards suppliers when necessary, and contribute to follow-up and improvement through KPIs.
- Ensure that supplier and product quality meet Nobia’s requirements, standards, and guidelines through proactive quality work.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, risk analyses, follow-ups, and develop the supplier portal.
- In collaboration with the SQA Manager, lead and further develop the supplier evaluation process within quality, environment, sustainability, health & safety (H&S), and CSR.
- Analyze quality deviations and trends based on internal and external feedback, and drive improvement measures.
A few words from the hiring manager:
”At Nobia Park, the daily work is characterized by close collaboration, short decision-making paths, and a clear focus on quality and improvements. A typical day involves dialogue with colleagues and suppliers, analysis of quality events, and working on concrete measures that make a difference in the business. The most rewarding aspect of the role is being part of an engaged team where quality is seen as a shared success factor.” – Fredrik Sjöstrand, SQA Manager
Location and travel
The location is Nobia Park in Jönköping. Hybrid work is possible 1–2 days per week after consultation with the manager. Mobility is an important part of the role, and the position includes up to 30 travel days per year, primarily within Scandinavia and Europe. A valid driver’s license (Category B) and passport are required.
Where we are right now
The SQA function is in a development phase with increased focus on preventive and data-driven quality work. You will have the opportunity to influence working methods and contribute to concrete improvements in supplier and product quality.
Examples of what the role offers moving forward:
- Contribute to building the future quality work at Nobia.
- Opportunity to influence and further develop working methods within Supplier Quality Assurance.
- An active role in improvement work together with suppliers and internal functions.
- Room to contribute your own ideas and experiences to create more stable flows and higher quality.
What you need to succeed in the role
To succeed in the role of SQA Engineer, we see that you have a post-secondary technical education, or equivalent experience acquired through work. You have experience in quality work within the manufacturing industry, as well as good technical understanding of drawings, specifications, and product requirements. You are also comfortable collaborating with suppliers on quality-related issues.
Meritorious for the position: Experience from the furniture, wood, or manufacturing industry. Experience in metrology and quality control. Experience with supplier audits is highly meritorious!
This role suits you if…
… you thrive in an environment where problem-solving and collaboration are central parts of everyday life.
- You work in a process-oriented and structured manner, with the ability to analyze causes and drive improvements all the way to the finish line.
- You are self-reliant and responsible, but thrive in close collaboration with others.
- You communicate clearly and professionally and are not afraid to drive dialogues forward both internally and externally.
