ABOUT Regional Staff North, J8

You will belong to Regional Staff North, the Economics Department (J8), located in Boden. The Economics Department (J8) consists of a department head and a controller.

Main Responsibilities

As a Controller here, you will work with invoice management, personnel economics, budgeting, planning, and follow-up. You will prepare decision-support materials, manage investments, and monitor costs. Additionally, you will handle representation matters and conduct follow-ups. You will support and assist managers and employees with economic issues. You will mentor and train within the economic field, primarily at an individual level but also in smaller groups. In addition, you will handle other tasks occurring within the economics department.

  • Ongoing follow-up, forecasting, and reporting
  • Unit planning and budgeting
  • Work with invoicing
  • Prepare requested decision-support materials
  • Management of unit investments
  • Authorization administration
  • Economic administrative work for the unit
  • Conducting internal training within the economic field

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • University or college education in economics
  • Category B driver's license (manual transmission)
  • Good ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in Swedish

You are a person with great attention to detail, are responsible and self-motivated, and have a strong sense of security awareness. A service-oriented attitude and teamwork skills are also essential, as the position involves many contacts with other people. You take personal responsibility for your own tasks as well as for the common result. You have high social competence and share the Swedish Armed Forces' value base. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of personnel economics
  • Work experience from government operations within economics
  • Experience in economic work for at least 3 years
  • Good knowledge/skills in MS Office, especially Excel

Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.

The position involves business travel, participation in exercises, and training. Tasks may change over time. The job also includes weekend and evening work.

Northern Military Region (MR N) is responsible for territorial land command in the four northern counties. The region consists of a staff and five training groups. The operations are located from Kiruna in the north to Härnösand in the south. At MR N, there are seven Home Guard battalions and several support functions.
