The Swedish Arts Council is a government agency. We also work to promote development within the cultural sector. Our grants can be applied for by organizations and groups, regional and municipal organizations as well as organizations within amateur culture and civil society. We contribute to ensuring that different types of art and culture reach the entire country and stimulate international cooperation.

The Swedish Arts Council's office, where approximately 100 employees work, is located in the Film House on Gärdet in Stockholm. Our premises are accessible and we work in an activity-based office with the possibility of working partially remotely. is looking for

Case Worker

for the unit for grants to free art and literature

The unit works with grants and development within the areas of literature, culture magazines, music, performing arts, dance, visual arts, design, and crafts. Within the unit, we also handle grants to center formations, alliances, and amateur culture organizations, as well as strengthened culture in schools. We conduct active environmental scanning to gather experiences from organizations and representatives of the cultural sector in order to develop our working methods, and we also work to strengthen the conditions for cultural actors to be active. The state grant for literature, culture magazines, and reading and literature promotion handled by the unit aims to promote diversity, quality, and depth in the publication of literature and culture magazines, and to promote the dissemination and reading of literature and culture magazines. Currently, there are 22 employees in the unit.

We are looking for a part-time case worker starting in August to temporarily strengthen the processing within the field of literature.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include processing state grants within the field of literature by

  • preparing and following up on decisions,
  • reviewing applications and reports,
  • being responsible for contacts with experts in working and reference groups, assisting in the preparation and implementation of meetings, and
  • having contact with grant applicants.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have

  • extensive experience in processing state grants within the field of literature,
  • good knowledge of literature publishing and the book market in Sweden,
  • knowledge of the actors in the book market,
  • very good ability to express yourself in writing and speech, and
  • good knowledge of the Office package.

You have a relevant academic degree, preferably with a focus on literature or journalism, or equivalent knowledge that the Swedish Arts Council considers comparable.

About the Employment

The employment is fixed-term for 3-4 months with an start at the end of August. The extent is 50 percent.
