The Swedish Fortification Administration is a government agency tasked with providing our customers within the total defense with adapted and secure properties. We own, build, and manage a unique property portfolio across Sweden – from modern premises to technically advanced facilities.

The Project Department currently has approximately 160 employees, of whom about 120 are project managers stationed at fifteen locations across the country. Attached to the department is today a project support unit and a staff unit, as well as a design unit that is currently being established. Project Management Unit 846 currently consists of 2 project managers located in Eskilstuna.

Lead socially important construction projects aimed at increasing Sweden's defense capability

We are now looking for project managers for our project management units with assignments in the Stockholm region. As a project manager, you are responsible for, and lead and coordinate the implementation of construction and civil engineering projects with security protection, from the early stages to the completed building and facility. The work as a project manager involves participating in all stages of the construction process, especially with knowledge of fortification and security protection within construction and civil engineering projects. The work involves participation in the procurement of consultants and contractors. You are responsible for construction projects regarding costs and time, as well as customer and authority contacts.

The work includes being the client responsible towards consultants and contractors, as well as being able to take on the role of agent for certain projects. The work is often done in teams together with project managers, staff personnel, and specialists. The position involves travel within Sweden as the Fortification Administration operates throughout the country.

What do you offer us?

We are looking for you who have several years of experience in independently leading investment projects with security protection related to the construction, civil engineering, and real estate sectors, with responsibility for time, cost, and function. You have knowledge of real estate and contracting law as well as LOU (Public Procurement Act) and LUFS (Regulations on Public Procurement in the Defense and Security Sectors). You also have several years of experience working with fortification protection and experience working with security-classified projects.

In addition, we are looking for you who have:

• Knowledge of security protection planning.
• Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' operations or other defense authorities.
• Knowledge regarding cost assessment/bid calculation in projects.
• Knowledge about the management of projects of a secret nature.

The role requires a high level of security awareness, good knowledge of Swedish both spoken and written, and good familiarity with administrative IT systems. Since travel is part of the position, a Category B driver's license is a requirement.

About the employment

The position is a permanent employment with a probationary period, located in Stockholm. Swedish citizenship is a requirement, as positions at the Fortification Administration are security-classified. This means that security checks and register controls will be conducted in accordance with provisions in the Security Protection Act.
