The municipality's public street lighting covers approximately 22,000 lighting points. Over the coming years, a comprehensive replacement program for LED lighting is planned, creating new opportunities for control, optimization, and energy efficiency. At the same time, the city is growing through new construction, resulting in more lighting installations. Therefore, we are now looking for an Operations Engineer specializing in lighting.

You will belong to the City Maintenance unit within the Community Development Administration. Here, you will work closely with a fellow operations engineer and have many external contacts with municipal companies, authorities, and residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Operations Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring safe, functional, cost-effective, and long-term sustainable street lighting in the municipality. You participate in procurement, investigations, and planning for new construction and reinvestment, as well as working on the planning of operations and maintenance. An important part of the role is also handling questions regarding lighting on roads where the municipality is not the road authority. This involves analysis, dialogue with relevant parties, and working on long-term solutions in accordance with legislation and the municipality's guidelines.

The work is independent but in close collaboration with a colleague, manager, and administration, as well as various project managers, contractors, and interest organizations. You ensure the technical function of the lighting, handle fault reports and rectify deficiencies, address residents' feedback, and prepare decision support materials for political decisions.

You also contribute to training and creating a broad understanding of the digitalization of operations. Reviewing drawings, documentation, financial reporting, invoice verification, analysis, and follow-up of the business are also included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have relevant education and preferably work experience in a related field. You are technically knowledgeable and have a basic understanding of GIS and/or CAD without being an expert.

We assume that you can handle Excel well and can use digital tools and new systems. It is an advantage if you have an understanding of construction documents and can read drawings. You have a pedagogical ability that creates conditions for conveying knowledge and technical information to, for example, managers and employees.

The operational perspective is central to ensure our facilities function in the short and long term. You develop work methods and are driven by efficiency.
