The position is located within the Community Development Administration, which handles municipality-wide issues such as strategic and physical planning, regulatory enforcement regarding environmental and building matters, and regional development. This administration also holds the consolidated responsibility for the municipality's technical supply regarding waste and cleaning, water and sewage, streets, roads, and parks. The administration works on behalf of the Municipal Executive Board and the Community Development Committee.

Job Responsibilities

As a Pipe Network Technician at Gnesta Municipality, you are offered a varied job with a wide range of tasks, with freedom under responsibility. Here, you will work with water, wastewater, and stormwater, including associated facilities and pipe networks.

Your tasks include, among other things, work on the pipe networks, water meter and valve replacements, leak detection in drinking water pipes, etc. In addition to working with regular duties, you will also be involved in developing the operations and participating in various projects.

On-call duty is included in the employment. The on-call duty also includes corrective maintenance at our waterworks, wastewater treatment plants, and pumping stations. We have a well-developed monitoring system to facilitate daily work in monitoring water and treatment processes.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Several years of experience within the water and sewage industry and/or the construction industry
• Practical experience from the operation and maintenance of water and sewage pipe networks
• Technical competence
• Computer skills
• Category BE driver's license
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language

The following is meritorious:

• Theoretical education within the water and sewage field
• Experience with the Water and Sewage Bank (VA-banken)
• Experience with surveying
