The Swedish Fortifications Agency's mission is to meet the Swedish Armed Forces' and other defense-related authorities' needs for functional buildings. We build, own, manage, and operate maintenance for many different types of buildings and facilities.

The design unit's task is to carry out design work in-house, and the operation is currently being established. Our goal is to work seamlessly across disciplinary boundaries to develop concepts and proposals that monitor function, technology, and physical security from an early stage. To be able to take on the projects we have ahead of us, we need to increase our numbers and broaden our competence in more technical areas.

Your daily life as a Project Manager at the Swedish Fortifications Agency

As a Project Manager, you are involved in the project from the idea stage to completion and have an overall coordinating responsibility to plan and lead design work together with a team consisting of specialists such as architects, building engineers, structural engineers, and installation engineers who work with BIM-based detailed design.

The Project Manager works closely with the working group, the project manager, and the tenant's representative in all design stages.

Your work includes structuring existing conditions, following up on the design of projects in all technical areas, and directing the design work so that set requirements and goals are met.

The position involves many internal and external contacts; knowledge of regulations for construction is a requirement, as is knowledge of software for planning design activities.

The position requires working on-site in Eskilstuna, although travel within Sweden occurs within the projects.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Have a university degree in at least 180 credits in building technology or another relevant education combined with work experience that we assess as equivalent.
• Have several years of experience in the role of Project Manager and are a technical expert.
• Have experience working with BIM design of complex buildings.
• Have education, competence, and experience in construction environment coordination (BAS-P).

It is meritorious if you have competence in contract law, cost control in design, as well as within the fortifications and/or defense sector.

We are looking for you who have a high level of security awareness.

You have very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing and good knowledge of English.

A Class B driver's license is a requirement.

About the employment

The position is a permanent employment and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be war-placed. The location is Eskilstuna. Employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. Security screening with register control will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
