Job Description

The City Property Management is responsible for ensuring the sustainable usability of buildings over time with good technical status and satisfied customers. This is achieved through close collaboration with tenants, other departments within the management, partners, and other organizations in the city. We are in an exciting development phase where the security unit is part of the Development and Control department. The unit consists of approximately ten employees who work with civil preparedness, bomb shelters, drones, blast protection, as well as electrical safety, security protection, and insurance. The unit is in a renovation phase where questions regarding civil preparedness are increasing, and we work in close cooperation with the City Executive Office.

Development Manager in Security and Preparedness

We are now looking for a results-oriented Development Manager for our team in security and preparedness – a role where you will have the opportunity to make a real societal contribution and strengthen our ability to meet future security challenges. Here, you will be a key player in our work to develop and ensure the highest possible security and preparedness, which is crucial for both society and our internal operations. As a Development Manager, you will work in a team responsible for, among other things, crisis management, security protection, crime prevention, continuity management, bomb shelters, preparedness planning, and physical protection. The particular focus of the position lies in working with security protection and physical protection, personal safety, and crisis management.

In your role as Development Manager, you will support the management team in conducting investigations and responding to service opinions. You will conduct general environmental scanning within the security area and contribute to developing the use of communication systems and information management systems within the security area, as well as providing internal training. You will participate in networks within the city and be responsible for creating and updating governing documents in the area. Within security protection, you will work with routines and follow-up, and physical protection within security protection. If necessary, you will perform other tasks based on the competence and experience requested by the employer.

Other Duties

  • Participate in collaboration projects regarding security issues for several departments within the City of Gothenburg
  • In collaboration with other employees in the unit, drive and develop the management's security work according to the City of Gothenburg's guidelines
  • Monitor the external environment, follow authority requirements, and industry development
  • Develop our crisis management

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have relevant post-secondary education in areas such as civil preparedness, physical security, security protection, and crisis management.

To succeed in the role, you need to have:

  • Several years of work experience in the field, with a requirement that you have previously worked with similar tasks in public operations
  • Good experience in crisis management and preparedness issues as well as physical security
  • Experience in continuity management and risk management
  • Knowledge of legislation regarding civil preparedness
  • Experience working with security protection

You have a large and genuine interest in security issues, the ability to handle complex security challenges, and a drive to actively contribute to strengthening our resilience and supply security. You work in a results-oriented and structured manner, with a good ability to prioritize and deliver solutions among different cases and issues. With an independent and solution-oriented attitude, you tackle tasks in an efficient way and at the same time have good administrative and written skills.

As a person, you are structured and analytical and have a solution-oriented approach. You have good communication skills in both speech and writing. Thinking and acting long-term and strategically in these issues is a matter of course for you. You collaborate well with other people.
