Do you want to help develop the future of land combat? The Training Unit is looking for a creative force capable of visualizing our training and exercise operations. You document event sequences in both field environments and simulated settings, creating pedagogical support for instructors and units during evaluations. The role is versatile; one day you create instructional materials, the next you act as a professional media contact during major exercises, or produce compelling content for internal and external channels.

Your main responsibilities:

The position involves communicating the activities of the Land Warfare School (MSS) both internally and externally, under the leadership of the Training Chief and the guidance of the Communications Chief. As a visual communicator, your work involves significant collaboration and cooperation within your own unit, within the Army, and within the Swedish Armed Forces.

Examples of tasks:

  • Media contact during major exercises: During larger national and international exercises, you act as the media contact person. You coordinate visits, brief journalists, and ensure that the image of the operations is accurate and professional.
  • Strategic and persuasive communication: You create compelling content for both internal and external channels. The purpose is to increase internal pride and strengthen the Land Warfare School's brand and recruitment power by showcasing our modern training activities.
  • Production of training support: You create pedagogical, visual, film, and graphic material that instructors use to train units. You break down complex tactics into easy-to-understand visual material.
  • Documentation and evaluation in all environments: Your material forms a central part of evaluations and provides units with an objective view of their performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Post-secondary degree in visual communication, media production, journalism, or equivalent.
  • Production: Very good skills in photography, video editing, and graphic design using tools such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and InDesign. Extensive experience in managing, handling, and creating engagement on social media. Good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Writer: Ability to write engaging and pedagogical texts adapted for different target groups.
  • Communicative skills: Experience in acting in a representative role or handling media contacts.
  • Language skills: Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Driver's License B (manual transmission).

Merits:

  • Drone operation: Experience operating drones for photo/video and knowledge of current regulations.
  • Simulation: Experience with or interest in digital training systems and visualization in virtual environments.
  • Swedish Armed Forces: Previous service or good knowledge of military operations.

Who are you?

We are looking for an unpretentious and initiative-taking team player who thrives in the contrasts between field life and technology-intensive training/simulation. You have a pedagogical drive and a natural ability to translate complex training moments into clear visual communication. As a person, you are stress-resistant and representative, allowing you to remain calm during intense exercise days and when interacting with the media. You have a commercial flair and are driven by creating compelling material that builds internal pride and attracts external interest.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
